Gmail Tabs Not A Problem

Just wanted to confirm what I've seen a few other people saying about the new Gmail tabs.

I've recently set up a new email campaign in one of my niches and I signed up to it myself to check it all works (as I always do).

I'm using GetResponse by the way.

The first email went to my promotions tab, but all subsequent emails have gone straight to the primary tab.

I've heard it's the same when using Aweber.

So I'm now including an instruction on my thank you page (after people sign up to my newsletter) telling people that if they use Gmail they might need to check the promotions tab to get the email with the download link to my free report/ebook.

After that there should be no problem.

Actually, the change HELPED ME. My open rate blew up and my click rate went up by 50%. 60% of my lists' members are GMAIL users.

What niche did that happen in or was it in multiple ones?

      You're jumping to conclusions.

How do you know that your jump in open rates was down
to the new GMail tabs, and not something else (like a
better subject line, seasonal factors, etc)?

      Answer: you don't.

For a more statistically valid analysis of the impact of
the GMail tab update on e-mail marketing open rates,
take a look at this data from MailChimp:

Actually after these Gmail tabs appearance, I think it will help the affiliate marketers. Because now affiliate orders appears into the "Promotions" tab. It will attract people more than before tho those emails.
