Getting Homosexual Abuse On My Blog!

So today, I log in and see some comments, a couple of decent ones, a few spammy ones, and then one which took me completely by surprise.

It was from someone who called himself ***hater, and went into huge detail on what he would like to do to gays 'like you', and some really sick stuff on what he thought I do in the evening. On my blog there is a picture of me on my bike (some horrendous stuff about the bike and me), and a small picture of me in the top corner of me as my avatar.

Now, of course, I just deleted it and laughed it off, but the fact that he took time to write this huge comment actually got me worried a bit, it was like 8 paragraphs long - I really wish there was a way to report this sort of stuff to the authorities.

Have any of you had any 'hateful' stuff on your blog? How did you deal with it? I know a lot will just say 'get over it, it happens' but I just feel a bit sick about it really.

Oh, and BTW, I am not gay :p but that is besides the point.

There are quite a few sickos in the world and unfortunately, you caught one.

That would completely creep me out too.

As for the authorities? I'm not sure. If it continued, then I would document everything and go to the authorities with cyber stalking, but I'm not sure if there would be much they would do with a one time incident.

Maybe others will know more about it than I do.

I guess so Terra - what freaked me out at first is the fact that he mentioned me on my mountain bike - my personal FB profile pic is of me on my mountain bike, I completely forgot I used it on my blog intro page as well, so first thought he (or even she?!) had checked my personal FB account out based on my name on my blog.

That would cause my heart to skip a beat or two, for sure.

But at least you realized it was on your blog too. That should give you a little bit of comfort anyway.

If that happened to me, I'd certainly be on the look out, not that helps the creepy feelings though.

I thought you were going to say that your blog was hacked and filled with pictures showing homosexual acts or something like that.

Anyway, I would simply ignore the comments. Life is too short to be wasted worrying and fighting with people like that.

Providing he's sending the messages from the UK you are protected by the Malicious Communications Act, if that's of any reassurance.

I thought you had comments from homosexuals because you were talking about homosexuality, but when I started reading this thread I saw that you were simply sad for being offended in a comment.

This is something you shouldn’t care about. Some people like to attack others for no reason. You should simply feel sorry for the offender.

I have already written four articles about homosexuality and I had to bear many aggressive comments because I consider homosexuality a mental illness that must be treated.

I don't mind having to deal with offensive comments; they are part of the routine if you don't agree with the mindset of our historical time.

You should understand that if you are a writer and you publish something online, you are exposed to the public opinion. You have to accept offenses and attacks without believing that someone’s opinion is something you should seriously take into consideration.

Perhaps this person is far from being intelligent. Perhaps they are angry for some reason and they decided to attack you instead of attacking their enemies.

Whenever someone is violent and offensive this means that this person has a psychological problem; otherwise they would be polite.
