Which Hosting company do you think is the best?

I've used Hostgator in the past for a shared hosting account in the past and highly recommend them. For a VPS account I would recommend Bluehost...I've been using them for a few years now.

It depends on what your requirements are. 90% of the hosts that offer "unlimited" this & that, are all the same, just operating under a different brand.

Godaddy is a worth hosting site ever. Never go with their Windows Hosting Servers. If your a techi/geek, go for Open Shift or Digital Ocean Cloud Hosting Servers. They are the best and helps a lot for SEO too! Good luck

I don't really understand why everybody goes with hostgator or godady. before becoming interested in IM, I was running non commercial art site for more then 10 yrs with budget hosting comp. and when I started to play with ideaoof IM I hosted my 5 test sites for few cents each and evth works like charm. In case of floods of traffic is always easy to upgrade.

GoDaddy is a domain registrar, they just do hosting for that extra money. In my opinion, GoDaddy hosting is terrible compared to BlueHost or Hostgator.

It's always good to check with webhostingtalk forums to see reviews and recent offers.There are gazillions of hosting companies. It's a very competitive market, so chances that small guys will offer a better service are big. . I'm hosting on halfdollar hosting which literally costs half dollar, and has awesome support.

Hostgator and GoDaddy... they are my best

I use hostgator and bluehost for my money sites and SEO hosting for my blog network. I like bluehost a little better because of there customer support.

This site is so frustrating, when it comes to hosting. (Read honest reviews at webhostingtalk.com and use it to find real hosts.) What people always recommend here is the fake "top 10" hosts. They don;t know any better. They've been duped for so long. The suggestions here are always for the 4 worst hosts:
- Godaddy
- Yahoo
- 1&1
- the 50+ EIG brands (the SAME COMPANY! SAME HOST!) that includes Hostgator, Bluehost, iPage, Fatcow, Justhost, etc. The customers often don't even know they're dealing with the same company.

That advice is terrible.

If you want a good non-EIG host, that doesn't screw over it's customers (1&1, Godaddy), and doesn't run lousy outdated servers (Yahoo) ... and you want unlimited ... look at Arvixe or Site5. Those are excellent companies. If you want to have your resources specified (aka not "unlimited"), then go with Stablehost or MDD Hosting. I could name at least 20-30 great hosts here.

The reason good hosts don't show up on fake "top 10" lists is because they don't pay affiliates $100+ each -- assuming they even pay them. (That's another topic.) They might have no affiliates program, or only pay smart amounts (about $20 each). This also means those hosts are spending money on providing good servers, by not paying it all away on BS marketing.

For me, GoDaddy is for domains and HostGator for Hosting.

I was on HostGator baby croc plan for nearly 3 years. The service was good overall, but when I switched to Stablehost earlier this year, I noticed that sites load far quicker. This was even before HG migrated over to slower servers.

I've been using hostgator for 6 years, never had a problem. I'm using a shared account where I host lots of websites.

What I really like about them is their customer service. I had to contact support at 3am sometimes and the operators via chat have spent lots of time trying to solve my issues.

Can't comment on other hostings since I've always worked with them.

I have active Hostgator and Blue Host accounts. I liked Hostgator in the past, but since they moved data centers it has been really bad. I wouldn’t recommend going with them until they get their problems sorted out. Blue Host is fine I never had any problems with them. I am going to get an iPage account in the near future yes I know they are owned by the same company that owns the other two, but if you watch their site for sales they have been doing $1 a month sales so it is $24 for two years of hosting plus a free domain name registration.

There are many of them –Hostgator, Ipage, Bluehost, GoDaddy and the list can go on and on. All of them are actually great and they’ve been used by many people but if you want to land to the best web hosting company, I have a few tips for you.

1. Take a closer look that each potential web host offers. Usually, they would offer personal, business and corporate hosting at varied rates. Pick one that suits the purpose of your site and your budget as well.


2. Check the offered storage space. Remember all the time that you have to choose based on what you need. If you plan to upload lots of videos then choose a plan with lots of storage space.


3. Choose a hosting company with 24/7 support. This is very important because just in case you need assistance with an issue, you don’t want to wait for the next business day before you get to talk to someone on the phone to help out.

Aside from these tips, don’t forget to check on reviews of the highly rated web hosting companies. Doing this should give you a better idea of each one of them.

I never have a problem with hostgator.

I have used Godaddy for hosting all of my niche blogs. I register my domains through them and then use their hosting....I have not had any issues and their customer service has been great. They rock with wordpress.

I use Hostgator and have no complaints about them!

I find they are very user friendly, provide excellent support via email or instant chat, they also have a great range of video tutorials for those who are just starting out and they are very cost effective - so that's my recommendation!

I have used most of the top hosters and without doubt Name Cheap has been the best for me

It's not likely you will get a definitive answer. I admit I may not be adding any value
to this particular post, but perhaps it will help someone in the future. I'm just as guilty
of this as the next guy. What I'm slowly learning is,when I ask better questions,
I tend to get better answers.

I have 15 sites with Namecheap and have never had an issue. I will never use GoDaddy. I tried them with 1 site as a test and they screwed up big time.

Taking the plunge, purchased my domain through GoDaddy, my hosting through HostGator for my site..the nameservers were transferred over to hostGator fine, then the problems started.
Passwords provided didn't work to enable me to access my CPanel, finally after day 3 all goes well, so am happy..

Using the live chat was great, much quicker than email, the techos were helpful the whole way through, happy as the login problems were finally resolved, one annoying thing was their advert/promo that would not allow me to access Cpanel, no red X top right..I had to sign in again with live chat to ask the tech to remove it.

Overall, average!!

I would have said HostGator without a doubt a while back. Now, I couldn't tell you. I've never had a problem with a site being down. But I've had many issues with useless support, and being given the run around by them lately. Ever since they were bought out it's been a bit of a mess.

Awesome uptime, awesome support, low prices, that's all I need from a host.

I can tell you this about iPage so far: load time and execution on wordpress is much faster than Host Gator.

Just did a quick skim and did not see anybody mention WiredTree.

Been with them for a while and absolutely love them. I moved to them the minute I found out EIG was purchasing HostGator.

I personally am a big fan of Yahoo Web Hosting. Aside from this, i would consider Hostgator.

I am using WiredTree VPS and I can say it's worth every cent I spend on it. I'd only ever recommend HostGator or shared hosting plans in general if you're an absolute beginner and do not have a budget. For a VPS, I would not recommend HG.

Hostgator used to be good but these days it sucks with frequent slowdowns and sudden 503 under maintenance sign boards on websites hosted.

Every Hosting company has its Pros and Cons but I prefer Hostgator. They are still my favourites !

I like godaddy.. but I use arvixe for my asp.net sites

We still have 3 hostgator shared accounts but now use a dedicated hosting plan with hostgator. They rock!

For small/medium sites, I use HostGator

For large sites, I use ServerStack

No one is good enough. I have used godaddy and had bad experiences as my sites used to get down frequently. About hostgator hosting I would say its better than Godaddy but there are some limitations and they will suspended your site if your site will exceed allotted resources without even warning. Currently I am using servint Vps which I think is best but little expensive for me.

For faster-running sites, I recommend choosing a host with Litespeed servers. I have had good luck with Crocweb, MDD Hosting and Hawk Host. Each plan on these hosts has a specified amount of storage and bandwidth. If you need more you can upgrade to a higher plan.

None of them have the so-called "unlimited" bandwidth, such as Hostgator and others do, which as most know is not really unlimited. You will have your sites shut down if you use too many resources on their servers.

Any time I have had a question (never had any real problems, to speak of) I have had very quick responses from all three, usually within an hour or two at most. Many times you can find discount coupon codes at webhostingtalk.com.

I cannot believe in this day and age people still use bluehost, hostgator, or any of those clichés hosting companies. They completely suck. I've used them before, and finally I had to go looking for another company, and a colleague who has some gaming sites, recommended crocweb.

For my shared hosting, I cannot believe i never used them before. They are cheap, fast, and their support is amazing.

Let's just put it this way, bluehost for example, will give you generic answers to your questions if something goes wrong with your site. Case in point, at some point my site was crawling. They said it was the plugins. I disabled them all, and the site was still crawling, then they told me it was piwik. That's what led me to abandon them.

Switched to crocweb, and my site never had any problems, until one day, I upgraded some plugins, site was again slow,and crocweb's support came out and said, we saw you have this plugin, and is causing problems, here is another similar one that might work. They were right and i was amazed with their support.

I used to use GoDaddy but their user interface is not as friendly as Hostgator and thus migrated to Hostgator eventually.

I would say HostGator, have been with them for 3 years and pretty happy with their service.

I personally suggest x10hosting, they offer free cPanel hosting, paid hosting, vps plans etc.

I've been using Hostgator for several years now and I can't complain. The support is very good. I have clients that use Bluehost with good results also.

Bluehost and Hostgator are runing with success for me. BlueHost and HostHator are two best and most recommended web hosting because of their performances.

Out of the 2 you have mentioned... Hostgator every time.

GoDaddy is the best web hosting company for me. I have my site that use GoDaddy. They are good company because they offer low rate it depends on you. They accommodate what you need. I haven't try other host aside my friend told me that he is using bluehost which is also the best.

I can suggest to you that you must better to try in order to see and test which is the best.

Currently using Hostgator, Namecheap, and Bluehost.

I have personally used Hostgator and Bluehost before. Both works fine and it is a great way to get a website going. Hostgator support team is good as the Live chat is always available.

I left goodaddy 3 years ago for Hostgator and have been extremely happy with that decision. "Hostgator" for me.

i've always been a big fan of hostgator. it's most likely because my very first experience with hosting was through them and they have been superb.

Hi there, I previously used GoDaddy - their support is great but their shared hosting is terrible for WordPress websites. A fresh WordPress install on a GoDaddy server took no less than 15 seconds to load.

I never used HostGator before, but I have heard that they are really good.

Personally, I use Byethost Premium (unlimited bandwidth, space, email adresses & MySQL dadabases). So far, they have been better than GoDaddy in every way. They will even give you RailGun CDN for free, which is worth something like $400 a month - it makes your WordPress sites load super fast.

I've used Hostgator a while back and left them because they didn't allow shell access. I would say go with Hostgator and move to something like Knownhost when you want something bigger. You can't beat knownhosts support response time in like 5minutes.

I have been using a Hostgator Reseller plan pretty much since I got started. It seems to work for me now. I was having issues with them a couple weeks ago, but everything seems to be working fine now.

They have great support.

i m now using hostgator. for hosting, available time is my 1st priority and great support come next! they are good so far for both.
i then suggest you go into using 2 separate hosting provider as you go along, i m sure we do not want all our sites under 1 single provider alone.

I used Dreamhost for a number of years and found it to be quite an awful service.
I switched to HostGator and have been happy since.

Host Gator FTW!!! Never down time and great support staff.

Best in terms of?

If price is not an issue, you won't go wrong with Softlayer, LiquidWeb, EuroVPS, Amazon EC2, Rackspace. These are the BMWs and Mercedes of hosting.

If you're at a budget, here are some good recommendations:

StableHost, Site5, MDDHosting.

Hostgator used to be good. Really good. Until everybody knows what happen.

Liquid Web for dedicated hosting . . . . they do a lot of things for me free that former hosts would charge $100 per hour.

Host Gator for regular hosting

If you don't need anything out of the ordinary, Hostgator is the way to go. Good prices and good service, aside from that little incident a few day ago.

Hostgator, Godaddy, Namecheap. For now Hostgator is giving a $100 Adwords coupon when you register. i would suggest that whatever company you want to use, choose a low plan like one - three months plan and observe their services before getting a long-term plan like 1-2years.

I go for Go Daddy because in case your site is down they can easily fix it and you can call them any time as long as you need their service.

Was finding the answer for the same question and recently got from Godaddy. There was a good offer for unlimited hosting and has also got a domain free with it. Also you find lot of godaddy coupon codes in the net. You can get good discounts on that....

hey friend i tell you one thing . i used hostgator baby plan,godaddy deluxe plan,ipage and just host.
i find justhost and ipage are very cheap in compared to hostgator.
where godaddy using load balancing ....and its control panel you find its weired.But support is very good.

Hostgator is faster than these and support is good. plus point hostgator uptime is very high and server speed really save you.

really depends what you need i would say. i use hostgator for most of my sites. Use a canadian server for local seo purposes for clients. I mean it depends what you're looking for but I would say host gator is pretty reliable in general.

I believe they are both too expensive. There are hundreds of other good hosting companies offering the same services as GoDaddy and HostGator, but at acceptable and affordable prices. 1and1 is one of them if you target US. If you target Europe, you should try GlobeHosting.

For Linux VPS hosting Servint is very good

With GoDaddy, be wary of the fact that their shared hosting service has basic functionality missing from their PHP system meaning that some scripts simply won't run. By "basic" I mean PHP extensions that are offered, as standard, by every other webhost under the sun, no matter how inexpensive.

If you ask for a particular PHP extension to be enabled, the answer is "No, but upgrade to VPS or dedicated and you can have it".

My advice is to stick with a good CPanel-based host such as Liquid Web or Hostgator. The standard nature of CPanel means you know what you're getting.

Bluehost service is great. They have online chat help that I have used several times and each time I am amazed at how quickly and efficiently they have managed to help me.

Hostgator isn't best at anything, and hasn't been for a while now. Unless by "best" you mean that you don't care about slow sites, downtimes, etc. They were bought out by EIG, and that's how it is now. Sites that used to take 1s to load now take 4s+ on average. That's horrible

PHP can be used to do quite a few things, be it uploads a zip, unzipping it, or installing whatever. (Google it, if needed.) And then FTP doesn't necessarily take long if the server is fast, and not some throttled/oversold garbage from Bluehost, Godaddy, etc.

Hostgator have always been good, Liquid web very good, and one to watch could be Hostica... I believe they are switching over to Cpanel in the near future.

I use 3 hosts. Techhost - who I'm going to leave as their down time hasn't been good. Hostgator who I'm also about to leave as they are slow when editing Wordpress sites. Finally I use Betterwebspace. I've used them since I started. They are far and away the best.

There isn't perfect hosting, Bluehost is good at wordpress hosting, but ixweb has multiple IPs. Hostpapa is 100% green with some datacenter in Canada! and so on. There is no so called best hosting company, but the most suitable hosting for you. although, these is something called luck when you choose the hosting, know what you need and find what suits you.

I am using one.com from 7 years. They are expensive but must say best services so far. 24*7 support and I have seen my self they are ready to help at any moment of time.

Bluehost without a doubt.

I've used many different companies and Bluehost tops them all. I'm always inpressed with their customer service and they don't mind offering a refund if you forget to cancel a renewal or something.

Depends what you need, but for basic hosting the best is InMotion Hosting for several reasons:

1. Speed
2. Uptime
3. 24/7 PHONE support - this is a huge deal
4. Multiple domain hosting on an account
5. Scalability - things like supporting cron jobs might not seem like a big deal when starting but it's a pain to have to change later
6. Geo redundancy

Combine all the above with decent prices and a decent affiliate program and they are simply the best, this coming from a guy whose tried a number of them and left most out of frustration due to not having any number of the points listed above, get a host that has all of them, you'll thank yourself later.

Every company has its own strengths, basically be to see your own needs.

A2hosting is the best hosting company whose services are inexpensive and quality.

I would go for beyond hosting and host gator.

I encourage everyone reading this thread to review it thoroughly and understand what the article is about & who Endurance International Group actually is. He's been reviewing the web hosting industry I've known since the early 2000's that I'm aware of & has seen plenty of companies come & go & also get destroyed. There's a lot of horror stories of EIG acquisitions & some companies that most of you have never even heard of.

99.9% of the customers who all of the sudden start having problems, chances are, your "new" host is the problem. 90% of the customers were either lied to about this migration (so called "upgrade") or simply fed some other BS; network issues, hdd failures, RAID array failures, websites go down for a few hours, suddenly come back up & customers are told Wordpress/Joomla plugins are the culprit...come on.

I have never had a host with better uptime, performance, and prompt, efficient, and effective technical support than VeeroTech.net.

I used to love Hostgator, but now reluctant to refer people to it. Services and hosting performances differ among Customer Services Reps and servers. Heard some forum friends suffered since the takeover and upgrage.
