INTERNET MARKETING

This has been talked about before I believe, but I wanted to see what experiences people have had with this.

In my personal experience I tried '3' fiverR gigs to promote a product I found on clickbank. I purchased a domain name and pointed it to the offer and setup the domain name so I'd get credit for the offer if it went through.

I tried someone doing a radio commercial on their channel, and '2' people to hand out flyers to the target audience but I didn't get any bites.

I think it's because I chose a pretty niche topic though. I want to try again but with a weight loss product this time possibly.

Curious if anyone has had any luck with FiverR flyer people?

I was thinking of using Twilio and putting some call tracking numbers on the different people I hire so that if people wanted to call me about it they could, just so I could be sure they were actually doing their jobs correctly, cause otherwise it's kind of on the honor system.

Thoughts on this anyone, bad, good, anyone with success?

Just wondering, have you used Google Analytics to actually see how much people visited your website form the region where the flyers where handed out?

I too would like to know how effective these kind of gigs are..

  Well, just for my two cents. I needed to get some surveys completed as part of a fulfillment of an academic paper I was writing.
  
  I tried a few Fiverr flyer Gigs on college campuses. I got just a few bites.
  
  I tried PPV ads. Just a few bites.
  
  I tried Craig's List, two bites.
  
  I tried a targeted solo ad, much more expensive, but I obtained many more completions than I actually needed.
  
  So like everyone seems to repeat on this site. Targeted lists are key to finding the people you want.

I don't have any experience with outsourced offline marketing, because I don't really know how to check if the flyers are actually delivered an not just dumped in the trash.. but If your taking that route:

Have flyers printed the size of dollar bills, print a dollar bill on one side, put the link to your website on the other. Fold the "flyers" so they look like folded bills and have your people scatter them around. Hell, even the people cleaning the streets will pick those up. There you have a 100% offline open rate of your marketing message.

People ALWAYS pick up money from the street.

This will probably work even better with a make money online product though.

You know I feel like an idiot, I didn't do that

I read what you wrote, it's good stuff. I'm starting to think you are right about that being the 'best' way. It may not be the easiest or fastest but I noticed that I can get people to buy just on trusting me alone already via my Facebook contacts, so it makes sense. You just got to be realllllly careful what product you promote so they don't lose trust in you.

which brings up a point, I wonder if facebook contacts you meet and friends count as subscribers?

I accept that it's probably better to know this than not to know it, but it may not actually be particularly helpful information in itself.

I get huge numbers of people looking at pages and clicking ClickBanks links on them. (I appreciate that you were redirecting people to a hoplink, but this doesn't detract from the point I'm making, here, which is that people who look at a ClickBank sales page and buy are people who were sent the link to that page by email - and there are reasons for that (mentioned in my post above). It would be a mistake to imagine that giving out flyers (or whatever) and generating genuine traffic to a hoplink might indicate that you were "on the right lines". Traffic to a sales page is - qualitatively as well as quantitatively - hugely different from income. I won't go on about it, and I offer it with only helpful intentions, but respectfully, IMO this would be very misdirected and unproductive effort based on a failure to understand why people buy. There are enough commonalities to generalise about that. And when you're selling, it's worth directing your efforts in the direction of a strategic re-think toward understanding that. Shortcuts don't sell ClickBank products. And even if you did make a sale this way, where would the business-building value be, if you haven't built a list, anyway? Most of the income in affiliate marketing comes from making repeated sales to the same subscribers. And most of the initial sales come from the ability to keep traffic returning to the sales page in the first place (because very few people buy a ClickBank product at their first visit to one, as vendors will readily confirm if you discuss it with them!). Without opting in a proportion of your traffic, you can't do either of these things. These attempts are therefore misdirected. Sorry.

Those flyer blasts should be avoided, along with any other gig you can buy for $5 that claims to make you a whole load of money. Think about it this way - if posting a few flyers up on a college campus was an easy way of making Clickbank or Amazon affiliate sales, then why wouldn't the gig seller just be doing that and making bank?
