3. Off page SEO - I know the big players for Social Networking, Social Bookmarking, Niche Forums, 2.0 Sites, Article Directories and so forth. I'm weak when it comes to YouTube and other video sites.

Here is a list of qualifications outside of IM:
1. Account Management (inside sales) - I've been at a company for 7 years as an inside sales rep managing millions of dollars in purchase orders and contracts every month.
2. Certifications - I currently have my real estate license and notary license.

I know I need a mentor to evaluate where I stand in the IM world an where I should focus my time. I do plan pn hiring one. I also know that fiverr gigs are available to produce some income. But I would like to hear from fellow warriors what I should spend my time doing and where I can get the biggest bang for my buck. Amazon takes months to get paid and starting a directory site will take time.

I appreciate your feedback and will work to repay your opinions anyway I can.

Not to dash your hopes, but that's not going to happen in 90 days. Keep working on your internet marketing, but also start a massive job hunting campaign immedately.

Thanks for your advice but I really think I can. If you spent 60-70 hours a week in "the zone" it can happen. I am very optimistic but I believe I have the skills to make it happen. But I appreciate your advice.

I really appreciate your advice. And I've read the other thread. My issue is zeroing in on what I know and how to apply that into being successful in this business. My wife consistently doubts my skills and doesn't believe that IM is something I can be successful at. I just cannot express to her the drive and self-accomplishment I feel from IM marketing.

I mean, making a site from scratch and getting a sale brings me such a high that I cannot express in words. I feel that I'm ready to make this my career and just didn't have the time to put my skills to the test.

So, where is your disconnect of finding local business owners who don't have a website, and offering to make them a 5 page wordpress site for $1000-$5000 each. Then as an upsell offering them SEO work, that can get you an easy $500-$1000 per month from each contract (most people will make them pay at least a 3 month minimum because SEO is slow)

Getting to $5500 per month using this business model is extremely "easy" if you're willing to do the cold calling. Once you get some clients, and they're happy with their site, it's easy to get referrals.

You said you have inside sales experience, so that's even one less hurdle you have to make this happen.

I think you and Garth are right. I just haven't considered my skills to be that much if an asset to a company. Like I replied to Garth, I will evaluate over the weekend and see if I can make money at this. I have never honestly considered providing that type of service to my local market because I've assumed I'm not good enough.

However, everything I've learned is from what I have googled. Anytime I cannot figure something out on my own I can usually find it through either this forum or another avenue.

Hey Shaun, there are tons of really nice free/low cost Wordpress themes. I would honestly suggest you at least get your client a quality premium theme and customize it a bit. Sure, the premium theme will cut into your profits a bit, but they tend to look more professional and have more bells and whistles.

You actually have 2 choices when it comes to making the client their site, both with advantages and disadvantages.

If you're really not confident in making the site for the client yourself, there are plenty of people who would be willing to create the content, install the theme, etc...

The cons of this:
It will cut into your profits
You will be at the mercy of an outsourcer so make sure if you can you only pay them half up front and half upon completion. (There are a lot of good people in the Warriors for hire section right here on this forum. They have lots of feedback, stick to them if you go this route)

The pros of this:

It will allow you to not be tied up in the technical aspect and you can concentrate more on gaining new clients.

You can outsource the SEO too, there are a lot of people on this forum that offer some really great SEO services. Again, you're going to have to make sure they have good feedback and you charge the client appropriately so you still make money.

The other option is to do all the selling and technical stuff yourself:

The pros:

You will make more money.
You will be in total control of all aspects of the process.

The cons:

It can be a time sink (time spent on doing the technical is less time spent on acquiring new clients)

As far as not having confidence in yourself because you don't know if you're good enough, as long as you deliver a quality theme with quality content with solid onsite SEO, that's what's important.

Make sure the site isn't just an "average site." Make sure the site accomplishes the goal of getting the people to pick up the phone, or come into the business. Take a stroll over to the copywriting forum and get some crash course in copywriting so you create a website that gets results for your clients.

Good luck man. I'm not saying the offline business model is for everyone. However, if you need a path to quick cash using some IM skills, it really is a good way to get that cash and a residual income with SEO, website maintenance, and hosting fees.

Just to quickly throw in my first thought (I'm browsing on my phone): amazon affiliate sites requires a large portfolio with significant traffic to make that level of cash.

I am thankful for your advice. I think that I do have the ability to reach some companies that would need my services. I do however don't know how to market them in the amount of time that I have. As a side gig I think I could eventually be successful but going door to door would be a huge task. I will weigh out your opinion over the weekend and see if its feasible. If you currently making $250 with whatever you do, jumping to $5500 a month is a big jump and require both more financial resources, and time, clearly 90 days is not sufficient nor is your financial resources at this point.

I would suggest to get a job.

I get what you're saying to him. But you did read the part where he's been working full time and has invested about 150 total hours into his current $250/month internet income, didn't you? And it sounds like a good deal of that 150 hours was spent gaining knowledge. It also sounds like he's going to work at this full time now.

The local business model can work but it is lacking leverage... And if you have the scent of desperation around you, it makes it that much more difficult. With that being said, sometimes when your back is against the wall you can come out swinging so hard that you can actually make it work.

From personal experience, multiple directions at the same time are your best bet. Find a job fast that can help get cash flow going asap. Don't be picky get something that can potentially allow you to telecommute.

Then, move forward with finding some local clients for WordPress/SEO/marketing services. Then over deliver for those first clients while bringing on new ones. Find a developer who makes pretty sites that don't rank and your half way there.

Next, find a system that offers you LEVERAGE that you can believe in. Nothing offers the potential to completely change your personal economy like network marketing. These words are almost blasphemous here at the wf but it is true... And if you want it bad enough...

Last two things.... Dig deep! There are 24 hours in a day so you could run 3 6hour shifts with 6 hours to sleep... It hurts but it can create results.

Lastly, get an accountability partner. You gotta keep your head on straight through this and stay 100% focused... Focus like you've never experienced before.

Keep the faith and get on it! Your future self will thank you and this may become one of the most decisive turning points in your life. But it requires to grow like you've never experienced before.

I will be brutally honest with you. Your time line isn’t realistic. My advice is start with the plan Garth Bradley outlined for you at the same time you are prospecting for businesses to provide services to look for a job. It may mean busting your ass but it will be worth it in the long run. Keep yourself employed until your income from IM is enough to meet your needs.

Internet marketing for self-employment is a pretty big deal. It takes a lot of effort but can be done. Just to give you a little background, I actually have a normal job that focuses on marketing and then do it for myself in other ways outside of work, which has proven to provide multiple streams of income.

Here are a couple points:

1. It's actually good you have a significant amount of time to work on this. When it comes to IM, I've found that the more time you have (if you don't have tons of money to invest, though at least a little is usually necessary), the quicker you'll reach goals. That being said, you still have to be really committed to it, which is hard when you are your own boss.

2. 90 days is actually what I encourage people to focus on. It's the time frame that has worked well for me in the past and actually one I use to train based off of. This really has to do with how online money typically works. It takes the first month to really get things set up and gain momentum. Then in the 2nd and 3rd month, the goal is start seeing your efforts and money multiplying.

3. I think $5,500 is doable in 90 days if you're going at this full time. I would suggest at least picking 2 main methods to go full out with and see which seems to be working better in the first month or so. Hopefully several will work, but oftentimes people seem to gravitate towards 1 or 2.

4. Your knowledge in WordPress/PHP and off page SEO is going to help a ton in almost anything you decide to move forward with. However, I wouldn't base everything off of that. For example, what you mentioned about the Amazon review sites - that kind of method can be very slow in returns. If you plan to set up bulk sites, over time it can pay off. It's just not the best way to go in my opinion.

Obviously, I have the things I do and everyone else does too and will have their own advice. But like it's said so often in these threads, pick 1 or 2 things to focus on and take action, treating it like a business. I wish you the best.

Its actually not that hard to be honest. Sell to offline customers. Way more money to be had there, you just need the guts to talk to small biz owners which 97% people can't do.

I just sold 1 site for $2900 last week and these type of transaction are very normal. All you need is 3-4 sites sold every month and you are set. Outsource website creation.

Maybe you can offer your services to people here on the WF. It's still going to be a lot of work, but it's probably your best bet.

Also, you have a real estate license and the market is good right now, why not also try that?

You should have a lot of contacts here. I wonder if you could set up shop on your own. One of my friends acts as middleman for industrial products from China. He only has a simple website and advertise his services by Adwords.
