maybe I should just hire an internet marketer?

I had a thought the other day guys, and I wondered what you thought. I spend a lot of time reading and learning about internet marketing, but at the end of the day when I'm honest with myself, I just dont' like it very much. I guess that's why I find it hard to get it in gear even with the stuff I did manage to learn.

I have a couple of solid products now that make sales here and there from organic traffic and my fan page. I just know they'd really do well with some solid marketing, yet I never seem to "get to it". And I have ideas for at least 2 or 4 other products I think would be very well received based on what my fan page followers have been reacting to.

So I guess I'm asking here, your thoughts on outsourcing your marketing to an im pro. I read a lot of info about outsourcing but I don't see people talking about outsourcing product marketing. Pros and cons guys?

"Hiring an Internet Marketer" is somewhat of an oxymoron. It's like trying to hire someone to take a shower for you. An internet marketer who knows what he or she is doing will be foolish to work for someone else. What benefit is it to them to spend their most valuable asset (time) for a wage, to create income for someone else, when they can invest the exact same time and keep all the profit for themselves?

You can certainly hire people to perform specific tasks, but hiring a marketer who is good enough to generate profits for you will use their skills to generate profits for themselves instead. That's the nature of entrepreneurship.

I agree with the others posters. You're looking for a joint venture where you can create the products and someone else handles the marketing of said products. Then you split the profits up. That's not unheard of. And, IMO, it'd be better than hiring someone who (potentially) doesn't really care about your success or failure because they're getting paid $10 an hour either way.

It sounds like you need affiliates to market your products. You appear to be good at creating products, let others promote them for you. That way you only pay for results.

To me, that isn't enough to find a good JV partner. Everyone who creates a product "knows" it will do well....if....

Discipline yourself to market your products and WHEN they are doing well it would be a piece of cake to find a partner willing to the promotional side while you stay with the creation of products.

I think when you really can understand your market along with all the niches in that market, you can really grasp what people want and what information they are looking for. So being the best in your niche means being an Authority site ultimately, but without the actual data to know what keywords your target markets are searching on, IM for many is a matter of guessing. About a year ago, I really started to read keyword data in ways that before only seemed confusing....

I've had numerous people come to me with great ideas, wanting to
partner with me, with me handling the marketing. In 98% of cases, I
said no, because, like many here, I find ideas for great products very
    easy to come up with.

It's fairly easy for me to spot a problem, and then find a viable solution,
and even create it... or have it created.

I've been marketing online for 17 years, and still find that one of the
hardest parts of the puzzle... actually selling the product... and I do
consider myself an expert at selling.

I discuss this often with mastermind group members, and their observations
    are close to mine.

An interesting thing that also happens to me is that as soon as I start
discussing marketing a given product with someone, in some type of
partnership (or even a for-hire situation), the almost immediately tell me
that they have a dozen other products "in the pipeline."

If you hire an internet marketer who focuses on doing marketing for others,
your idea may be viable. If you reach out to entrepreneurs, they are too
independent to want to drop their projects/ideas to work on someone
else's. I even have friends who once charged tens of thousands of
dollars for copywriting, who stopped taking on outside jobs because they
found it more profitable to use their talents on their own projects

Thanks for the input everyone. I still have a full time job right now, plus other duties with church. So I just find it hard to "get to", if you will. Rogue one, I thought creating an affiliate program would be the way to go for me also, but again I find it all confusing and a bit overwhelming.
I wasn't sure if there were people out there who specialize in marketing for others or not, so this has cleared that up for me. Thanks again everyone.
