Do you think YouTube boosts vids with ads over others?

Hey all
I have been thinking of stripping out all ads from my YouTube videos, they make OK revenue, but I am completing a conversion of my business from a broadcast property (after 15 years on TV in Canada) to an IM focus with online courses being delivered. I think that I should not be including outside ads in the future, when I am going to be promoting my own stuff!
But my concern is what happens to search when you pull ads, seems to me Youtube could prefer videos with overlay ads, or are they happy with just the sidebar revenue and your search results will not suffer.

    Youtube is a business.

That means if you take away their money, they will most likely take away the traffic.

YouTube, as any other website with a similar business model, will probably find ways to increase traffic to income generating vids, pages, etc, and reduce traffic to accounts that mainly eat up bandwidth without covering costs etc.

If I had to choose however, I would still dump the ads, and promote my own stuff.
Reasons being: 1. You are driving potential customers away from your offerings straight into the arms of your competitors. 2. That one penny you will earn from a viewer clicking on an ad is not going to make up for your loss of a potential customer.

P.S. I've watched your shows in the past. Steve Dotto right?
