Learning to market/promote an arts center, new to the field, grand opeing last minute

Hey, Im a musician/dancer/martial artist/caterer seeking to be successful professional. I want to learn about the business and marketing aspect of this world.

I have started working as a marketing and promotions intern at a center in town. I have made facebook and myspace pages and am learning how that works and how it can be used to reach people.

I will do some reading at this forum and any other online places you guys suggest. I am in school for science and have not taken business classes. I hope to learn from experience in the field as an intern, from others, and from books or resources I can find! (esp pertaining to my preferred markets of fitness, martial arts, dance music and catering/concessions)

we are having a grand opening tonight

We have sent it to our facebook and myspace contacts as a PM message. I was wondering about announcements or bulletins on these sites, how else can people be reached. Do i just add a bunch of local friends and give them emails fliers when available?

Ive sent a reminder to 250 people on our mailing list, and we have been reminding everyone we know, as well finding local calendars online to post at.

what else would u guys suggest.

Are there any last minute tips since we are doing it in a few hours

thanks!!!!!!

Heres the reminder that Ive been sending out.
