Has anybody used Quora and found it useful?

Most of my facebook friends seem to use Quora and I recently signed up for it. Blog posts in quora seems to get a large amount of exposure. Has anybody used Quora to build back links or as another social media platform to get traffic from in general? I am not sure but people who do article marketing might find quora useful as far as exposure and traffic towards their website is concerned. I don't think the articles there get syndicated but the large amount of facebook users who read it every day will mean more exposure from real users as opposed to just webmasters and bots in ezine.
What are your thoughts on using Quora? Do you use it to drive traffic to your website or do you use it as part of your SEO efforts? And the most important question, do the returns you get justify the time you put in to be active there?
