We're a content company and we've been told that they are in the running to have the investment we're actively competing for. So it's in our best interests to cut traffic to them where we can because they get around 1.2 million a month and a small amount of that is from Reddit.

That is something we're actively doing and well but there's several sites in the running and they're keeping up with us to the degree where it's better to be safe than sorry. I was wondering if anyone else had experience in this area.

Would they not just use a different domain name then redirect people to their site?

Maybe you can find out where the other person lives and kidnap their family for ransom.

Never mind I think it's worked. They have started to shadow ban all my spam accounts and I can't post a link to them withot it getting knocked off.

You're both the same arn't you? I bet they're trying to get you banned too. Eye for an eye.

I wonder if they're reading this thread, or if one of the heaven knows how many hundreds of thousands of members here are reading this and recognise it, or work for Reddit.

I loved this bit in the article Dan linked too...

Friggersly, however, caught some black hat social media marketers discussing how they use those rules to get competing brands banned.

I like the word "Caught". I mean, you're telling the entire binternets. If I type "banned from Reddit" into Google, the #1 result is the entrepreneur article and this thread is on the same page.

I am so glad so many of you responded this way. When I see a black hat idea like this, it really burns me up inside. Thanks to all of you. Even if it uses up all my Thanks for the day.

@theOP: it's best to concentrate on improving your own results than taking down someone else. I mean, I could understand a revenge thing if someone hurt your family. But not this. It's the same as trying to punish someone in google results with citations.
