Are Solo Ads Good for Writers?

The Warrior Forum's classified section has several solo ad offers. I was wondering, is it worth it for a writer to make use of solo ads? Or do solo ads work best when you're selling a product, as opposed to a service (such as writing)?

    Hi Michelle,

I think the returns on a solo ad are less dependent on the nature of your product/service, and more dependent on the quality. So if you're a writer, whether a solo ad works for you (or not) depends on how effectively you communicate the value that you're going to be creating for people.

I personally wouldn't bother too much with solo ads, but that's just a personal preference thing and not at all based on any "real" scientific data/experimentation. Would love to hear how it plays out for you if you give it a shot.

    Cheers

I'm terrible at writing ads. One thing is certain, someone else will have to write my solo ad if I want results. Maybe I'll give solo ads a try. If so, I will report my results.

I was wondering the same thing. I think if you write a great ad and include links of previous work and some testimonials the results should be good.

Please give it a shot and share your results!

    It depends on the list.

Let's say the list is interested in "making money", it will be very unlikely that a solo ad would do you any good.

Now, if you happen to find a list that is interested in "writing services" you would most likely have excellent results.

Now, the guys that advertise solo ads on the warrior forum will most likely have subscribers that not at all interested in writing service.

I personally feel that those solo ads from this forum, Safe Swaps and those Skype channel will not get you good results as they are generally interested in making money online. But this is just my personal opinion and it might just work for you if you have good written emails being sent to the solo ads list.

Like hpgoodboy said, if the list is interested in "writing services" you should do fine.

I generally expect that your results will fall flat.

The reason being is that most people in those list swap deals want to make money online, but they have not yet committed to creating real value for others.
