Automatically generating affiliate links on a forum

Hey all, quick question. I'm creating a forum for a niche that I'm an affiliate for. I'm basing the forum's monetization in part on the success of the site KBoards, which is for Kindle products, e-books, etc.

The site is set up so that whenever someone posts an Amazon link, the link automatically becomes an affiliate link for KBoards affiliate account.

I'm pretty new to creating forums. Is there an easy way to make sure that all links to a certain site will be automatically changed into my affiliate links? Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but if I do, I have a suggestion...

Wouldn't you be better to make the forum free for everyone and charge people that want to advertise their links instead?

Maybe you can do like a classified/marketplace section where people list their links rather than you taking a piece of every sale.. Especially if it will be a new forum, you certainly don't want to scare potential new members away before they join...

Does that make sense or did I completely misunderstand your question...

Thanks Vinny. You did misunderstand my question, but I may not have provided enough information in the first place .

The forum will be free. It'll be a regular forum. Let's say for simplicity that I'm creating a forum where people discuss Amazon products.

How do I make it so that whenever someone posts a link to Amazon, it automatically turns that link into an Amazon affiliate link without me having to manually change them all one by one? Thanks!

I use skim links and I make awesome money from them and the best thing is I rarely see the links on my site...lol so I have no idea how it is working but still :-)

The only way to find out if it works, to test.
Post an amazon link and see if changed to your affiliate one, then post another amazon link with affiliate ID in it (not yours), see if it changed automatically this one too.

    Share your test results
