International LLC Fellow Warriors: Need Your Advise

Hello folks,
My friend from India is keen to start an LLC in the United States. He is planning to sell ebooks online and I have a few questions to ask in this regard.

1. How much starting costs should he expect to start an international LLC?

2. If he starts an LLC here, would he be governed by the operating laws of United States or India?

3. Can he open a bank account here to collect money for his transactions? And how can he go about collecting the money?

4. Since he will not have a physical office or a location, can be use a PO Box as his address?

5. Are there any resources/services available that can help him file taxes?

6. Also are there any services that can take care of forming an international LLC from start to finish?

Please advise.

I'm curious why he'd want to expose himself to our lawsuit happy society by having a "presence" here in the States when he could simply operate out of India without all the worries? Especially when the risk of getting sued comes with filing taxes!

The main reason is that he feels that having an Indian company name and address would be problematic for him to attract more sales. I agree with him because not many people trust companies that operate outside of US, UK and Canada.

Me thinks he needs to contact an attorney for the best advice....that attorney may suggest an International Business Corporation instead.....

pm me and I can shoot over some attorney names...advice like the questions you ask above should only be given by an attorney.

Why does everyone have to tell us Indians to settle for less?

Without a company in US or UK it is impossible even to get a merchant account and payment gateway. Taxes are not everything. You have to keep in mind that LCC in US or UK would boost sales slightly. Which is why its worth it...

@OP . We have been worrying about the same thing too and here's what we have found till now... http://www.companiesmadesimple.com

Yes electronic formation is the quickest and cheapest way to go. Only issue is UK banks (to open company bank account) need to see paper copies so need to print them out!
The good thing about companies house (UK government companies regulator) is you can now file all paperwork needed online like annual returns (and it's cheaper in the UK governments push to be greener!)

      Hello

I checked companies made simple and it is an amazing offer, but if anyone has experience with them it will be great to clarify the following:

-I don't reside in UK, so, can I still benefit from this service? while browsing the site I got a feeling that it is directed to UK residents who need to establish a business more than international prospects? Am I wrong (wish so

-What about opening a bank account? I see that they have relations with huge banks (HSBC included), would I be able to get a bank account with HSBC for example online, will they offer help regarding this?

      Thanks
      Ahmed

I looked into this a few years ago, never did anything about it. To start your investigation do a search for "nevada llc" and "delaware llc".
