Stupid Questions About Signatures I Should Know The Answer To But Can't Remember Right Now

Hi. Just had some quick questions about signatures on Warriorforum.

I know we can't link directly to an affiliate page (who'd want to do that anyway?), and that we're allowed to link to our own website. Can we link to an individual blog post that talks about a certain product or compares it to others, and then of course have an affiliate link in that post on our blog? (A real blog post, not just something that says "click here"). I see other long-time Warriors doing this, but I wanted to be sure.

Also, can we do the same thing but with a Warriorforum blog post? Can we link directly to an affiliate offer from there? My guess is that it wouldn't be allowed, but I wanted to be sure. That also wouldn't be as effective as linking to an offer straight from your blog anyway.

And finally, what about selling our own product on a web2.0 page? Is it fine to link to that in our signature?

I think I asked one of these questions a long time ago, but don't know where the thread is. Thanks for your answers.

As far as I know nothing you mentioned is against the rules, then again I never used my signature like that. It's best to contact the helpdesk.

Yes to your own blog page with an affiliate offer.

Probably no to a WF blog post

Yes to a Web 2.0 page that is yours.

No, we certainly can't do that. (Though as you say, who'd want to?)

    Yes.

Surely not? I can't actually find anywhere where it spells out that you can't, but I think you can't. (Who'd want to, anyway?).

    Yes.

Links to "your own" Blogger blogs and even to Squidoo pages are allowed.

Accepted by the WF, anyway. Just very unwise to use a Web 2.0 page you don't own or control, to do that, when you could just as easily and far more safely use something like a self-hosted WordPress page/blog on free hosting, and not take any unnecessary chances. Bit of a no-brainer, really?

I didn't see it in any of the rule threads but, here's a post from Paul Myers that states it's not allowed (just in case anyone wasn't sure).

It's my understanding that the blogs follow the same rules as the main boards and signatures (with the obvious exceptions of articles or "my journey" posts).
