Would Value Some Perspective From Forum.

I love this forum and I feel fortunate to be able to be here.

I would like your advice I am stuck and have decided to do anything other than debate my mind about it.

Question: Which of the three would I have the best chance of making a run at assuming I have B to B+ level skills in what it takes to do them and experience of a few years doing but not for cost.

1. Building, maintaining, marketing small business or solo websites mostly local and in the service areas like accounting, hair salons, car dealers, lots of small business that have no sites because of price and value both of which I may be able to provide cheaper than most can and also including all the basic marketing off and online depending on what they want. I have built and ranked over 100 sites. (Not all home runs at all ) I offer to show what it takes to make it line up with their expectations.

2. Writing articles and blogs and advertising or even mechanical turk type stuff. I know the money is nickles and dimes but pennies are better than what I have. That Marketing Hacks guy put out a great WSO the other day about writing newsletters and I loved it. Basically, Writing is what I am saying. Even for fivver.

3. Variation on # 1 except the target audience is online entertainment. It is where I have most experience but fear there is zero money for as I have watched several friends try and none make anything. I had a successful music teaching business and also did marketing later on for some entertainment people that are fairly well-known and have proof and good references of my work.

Which of the three would you advise? I am looking for best chance of making money. I am not afraid of working hard but I have been for last year and feel i went in circles. Even $50-100 a week would be enough. I can't stand that I am not making anything. I have kids. I don't want to be a charity case. I want to do something. I always did until cancer and self-pity took over.

Thanks A Lot.

That's a near impossible question to answer because we don't know you. People say things, what they are good at, ect, but it's not always as they say. Not trying to give you a hard time, just thinking out loud.

Big reason I say this is because you talk as if you've been trying for years, but are not making anything. If you've worked hard, tired your best and have not made anything in years, something in wrong.

When ever I hear talk like this, I think either the person does not finish projects or does not market them, or both.

Probably why your thread is not getting many replies. These kind of threads pop up every day.

Seriously, if you follow a proven plan, finish and market your project, there should be no reason you would not be making money online.

I think you need to figure out, or be honest with yourself, as to why you have not made money in the past.

Again, not getting on you, just saying being realistic.

On a side note, it "sounds" like #3 is the best bet. though it's quite vague. But if you've had success, know what your doing and have testimonials, seems that should be your hit.

Or I 'am totally off base

    I would suggest Option #1.

Listen, there's someone I've known for years. He's friendly, but honestly seems somewhat lazy, and I really didn't think he was going to do much with his life. Most of his friends probably thought the same thing.

I couldn't believe it last year when I found out that he started building websites for local businesses! I'm proud to see that he's found something he can build a business around.

If he can do it, and you have all that experience, I know you can make money doing this. Hands, down, this is what I think you should do. Just market your website-building talent to local businesses, or maybe even businesses further away over the web if there's not enough of a concentration of them in your area.

Edit: I also want to say that the reason your friends unfortunately did not have success marketing to entertainers was likely because those people often do not have near as much money to spend. Businesses on the other hand, tend to have much more money available for marketing than the average consumer. That's another reason I believe you should go for the first option.

Just a shot in the dark here ... if you're musically talented, can make snazzy web pages and write reasonably well, why not combine those gifts?

Perhaps make some videos into a beginner series on "Easy to Learn Beginner Songs on the Accoustic Guitar" on YouTube and elsewhere. Direct them to a website about you with a promise of a giveaway for tab PDF's of those songs and a few more, some tips etc. and whatever else that is part of your sales funnel. I'm sure from there you can see the possibilities. A targeted list to start from, a subscription or even one-on-one tutorials via Skype, recommend picks and capos with Amazon affiliate links ... whatever else you can think of to monetize.

I will not advise on the option to pick, I believe that you need to search the one thing that brings out the passion in you. When you get that, nurture your passion into profit and persist until it pays off.
