How do I get backlinks for a Social Network

Hello I own a social network and I wanted to ask if anyone had ideas about getting backlinks for a site like mine. If you want to look at my site it's dizcool.com

    Getting a social network started and running is an incredibly uphill challenge.

    - How are you planning to get users?
    - How many users do you have at this point in time?
    - What's your motivation for doing this?
    - How is it going to work?
    - Why should anybody use this instead of Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc?
    - What's useful or interesting about the community you're building?

    If you can answer these questions, getting backlinks is RELATIVELY trivial. You may find it easier to build a community on an existing platform rather than starting a new platform completely from scratch.

    (Also, just some constructive criticism- your visual style is rather clunky and unprofessional, and may deter casual, curious users from signing up. But improving your visuals won't be nearly as important as answering the fundamental questions.)

    Once you've got your existential questions sorted out, you'll have a better idea of who to talk to and what to say to get the backlinks. Good luck.

    I have checked your site and was a little confused with the social aspect of it and in dual minds whether I should join or not.

    I then google'd the following - 'connect and share with the people in your life' which is your sites motto and the 1st page of google has no mention of dizcool. I am guessing you already know that....

    I would second ReferralCandy's questions and ask some very basic questions...

    Some of the things you can do is to use established social networks to promote it. Use facebook, twitter and other social media sites. use social media marketing. apply seo. submit articles to directories, exchange links with other sites, submit press releases, create web 2.0 sites and work on. use forums. forums are an effective way to promote sites, including social network sites. if you have the capital, place ads in Google. You'll have plenty of options to choose from. Find out what works for you.
