advice on kickstarting myself online again

This is the kind of question that probably makes me look like a total dweeb but here goes; I have procrastinated and chased all sorts of fly-by-night things that came along and now I want to reboot my brain and get myself going online.

So I am looking at two possibilities that look good; Ezra Firestone's brown box formula or Eric Lueviere's (sp?) new coaching programme.

I have been on Eric's mailing list for a while and have bought a few things from jobcrusher etc. and the brown box formula also looks like a very clear-cut path to building an online biz.

But I have to choose one or the other and then really focus and put in the effort.

So my question is just for feedback on which one of these two choices would be the most logical for someone looking for that proverbial kick in the rear and a solid direction to getting a viable income online. (or if there's something different I should consider instead)

Just for a little background, I have run a successful online business a few years ago in the horseracing niche but due to the decreasing accuracy of the information source the product was powered by, it eventually became a liability and I had to discontinue selling it. I have a good general marketing knowledge and what I need most now is the motivation and guidance to get me focused and steered in the right direction.

Thanks :-)

Perhaps don't get any at all?

Not trying to bash any of the products, but there's plenty of information out there readily available for you.

Besides, any course that's more than a few months old that promises you the "#1 spot in Google" is quite frankly a waste of your money. Not to mention they'll all become obsolete as soon as Google's next algorithm update comes out. Then you'll have to buy your Coach's next product to get your rankings back.

Yeah there may be a few good tips here and there, but most of the stuff is rehashed information that you can find for free by digging around. Sorry if I just spoiled a few sales for you IMers.

There are no "big secrets" that the "gurus" don't want you to know about. Yeah there are little details here and there that the successful marketers use, but you'll probably figure that out when the information is actually relevant to you.

Want to know how others are making money on the internet?

Listen close, because I'm about to give you the biggest spy tool that exists on the internet. It lets you search for anything and immediately gives you a list of websites competing for that keyword. Feel free to check out their sites and reverse engineer their entires sales funnels if you must. That's how everything started, anyways. New websites are modeled after other successful sites and the cycle continues.

The spy tool is called Google.

Here's another tip: Go on sites like Facebook, ESPN, NBC News, Weather.com, or any high traffic site, and pay attention to the ads. Click them all. Figure out what they're selling or promoting. Those people are spending money every second of every day on those ads, so it must be working out for them.

If you need to buy an expensive course just to get motivated, this isn't the business for you. Just the thought of indefinitely being a slave for an employer should be motivation enough to get the juices flowing.

And here was me thinking of those ads as the devil and paying absolutely no attention to them when in fact now that I think about it they can teach you a lot... That was I great tip that I really thank you!

  • You say that you have "chased all sorts of fly-by-night things" that came along, and that you have experience in running a successful online business, and that you have general marketing knowledge, and that you have bought a few things from jobcrusher.

This to me sounds as if you might already have enough experience and information on hand in order to "get going online again" without having to invest in an expensive coaching program.

You do however appear to have lost your confidence and self motivation in order to get going on your own. It appears you once had that, so my guess is that somewhere along the way you lost it. If so, then maybe that is an area you need to work on first. Not a marketing course or coaching program, but maybe peruse the Mind Warriors - Success, Power, Self-Improvement thread and energize yourself there first. Once you do that, you won't have to ask others for a kick in the ars. If you need a kick in order to keep moving, then you might as well get a crappy job and work for an ahole boss.

Do yourself a favor and don't find yourself making the mistake of signing up to course afer course, and buying product after product. Instead, look deep within, decide on setting up a passion business of your choice, and then spend those funds on setting up a new business. You know how to do this....get some webhosting, a domain name, an autoresponder, a product or service, and go make some money.

Before you do anything grab a topic. Drill down to the bottom niche in that topic. ( I can think of a 1000 off the top of my head, so can you if you have the desire) Sub sub sub niche and build an authority site around that.

Then work your way up till your king of the topic. Collect opt-ins on your way up. Once you have your online authority system in place, your social media setup and great content on your site, up sell till the day you die.

You can do it, just go for it. (don't be cheap about it, Premium DNS, $30/month hosting, etc...)

If you were able to do that in the past, there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to have some success again on another niche or online business this time. Get the courage to do so and follow your dreams.

Don't be debilitated by fear of failure. If you fail, at least you tried. I haven't really tired those programs you mentioned, but if it sounds good, then, go ahead and try it and see for yourself. You never fail by trying. Goodluck!

    Hey DJTrillian!

My best advice: pick something you are interested in yourself. E.g. I'm a magician for over 17 years now, so if I was just starting out with IM i'd pick that as my niche.

I would write pdf's explaining tricks for a certain fee as my products.
This way, you won't get bored with your job and you might even have an awesome time which will stimulate you to work more and harder

    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,

What do you want to do? Find something that you love to do or a niche that you are interested in.

If you have interest in it, chances are you will keep pushing forward till you succeed online.

Sounds like you have already had some success in the past. So you know it's possible. Good luck with your venture.
