What is the biggest list you've ever built?

Just a little fun for the entrepreneurs and because I'm totally curious...

Of course it needs a decent open rate of at least 8-12% (as of industry standards) or about 20% for various other niches.

Thought it'll be fun for Warriors to throw out their numbers, and for the newer entrepreneurs to get some motivation.

And yes, while the conversion density matters more, the volume still matters. No debates about that here though, please.

Let's get the ball rolling...!

My lists got up to about 320k at one point but it's closer to 260k now. I've actually had well over 100k unsubscribes over the last 10 years. Maybe it was something I said LOL.

My open rates are still way above the 8 to 12% you mention though.

My largest current list is slightly above 224,000 with an open rate much higher than 12%. The largest list I've ever built was about 3x that size (sold it to a strategic partner).

My smallest list, which is a list a highly-targeted buyers, is at 192 with an open rate of 94% and it's also one of my most profitable.

Haha, I didn't want to discourage the smaller list owners from posting up their numbers. 8-12% is a minimum requirement for people to post, more so than a good open rate, definitely.

Been looking at a Forrester report... The average open rates shouldn't be that low.

Got the following image from Launchbit:

It's concentrated among the low-size lists, because they're probably customer/qualified lists. A reasonable open rate would be around 30-60%+, depending on how big the size of the list is and the copy.

LOL. i guess it does happen, it did happen to me too! I was wondering if people got sick of the email spam from other ads and decided to clear their inbox. There seems to be a rise in ad blindness/disgust too. Been split-testing a few email formats.

Aha. Customer lists, how powerful when they're still buzzing hot. Freaking awesome open rates.

Fire me a pm if you have a question. I build businesses and provide consulting. I do not do finance/money/internet marketing niches. Fitness, self-improvement and various others are welcome.
