I want to begin creating information products. I have a lot of experience in marketing and sales (mainly offline/door to door/demonstration).

Anyway, I just wonder how do you all determine what products to create? The bonuses to add etc.

I know the general response is to send a survey to my list, but im just wondering if anybody has anything other than that to share.

Thanks.

I like to use private label rights content. It's very inexpensive and you can rewrite it in your own style.

Doing a survey is a good idea, but you can also promote affiliate products to your list as a "proof of concept". If they respond well to it then you can create your own similar product or something that compliments it.

You can also dry test by setting up a sales page for any product that you are thinking about making and see how many people attempt to purchase. As Tim Ferriss says, "Don't ask them if they would buy - ask them to buy."

Who is your target market? if you don't have one what niche do you have expertise in? take this knowledge create content for it and package it. find what problems people are having and solve them in your product, research questions people are asking in the forums, look on amazon books in your niche and look at the comments people are leaving.

The best way is to ....

    1. Know your industry
    2. Understand your audience

Performing surveys can help, but be careful not to rush out and create a whole bunch of products based around people that "say they want stuff", but don't get their credit cards out.

    Two additional tips....

    1. Look at what competitors are doing/offering in your field for inspiration and ideas.
    2. Move quickly. Don't make the mistake I made. It cost me $3,500 and I lost 12 months.

It depends on your interest. You have to choose a product that love doing so you will do not have boring working on it.

It seems like you already have some knowledge in certain areas. Now it is time to just begin sharing your knowledge.

If you run out of ideas to write about you can always pick up some PLR to get some ideas. Rebrand it into your own words so it is unique.

As for bonuses to add, most people will tell you that PLR works the best.

    Hi,

Just go to the marketplaces and see what is Hot Then hit the same niche with a slightly new approach, or just advertise your product as better and new and etc...

Or maybe you are doing something what brings you nice money? Maybe you could share those methods with other people? Personally that's the way I would go about it.

If you already successful in making money online that could be your best way to go. Or if you are proven salesman maybe you could teach others how to sell etc.

    However...

Product is nothing without marketing and right advertising. I mean things like JVs, copy of sales letters, web design, videos and other things. If that sucks no matter how good your product is it won't give you positive ROI.

These days there is rarely any new information or topic to write about. In fact, in the world of diets for example, all that "new studies" and "wonderful weight loss nutrients" are all purely creation of smart marketing heads (real valuable findings are rarely make it to the wide public with big noise... But crap is advertised all the time. Reason? Crap is fast, easy and cheap (sometimes should be expensive depending on the niche)! Real deals are often not easy, not cheap and not fast... That's something people don't like

So, get on this busy niche you feel comfortable about, prepare great marketing plan, execute and keep fingers crossed

Are you looking to sell to offline businesses or sell to other marketers who work with offline businesses? If it's the latter, the Offline Discussion forum here will give you plenty of ideas to work with.

Research your market and find out what their problems are. Is there a common theme? If so, figure out a way to solve it then present it to your audience.

Forums are great for research, too. You don't even have to dig that deep to find a few golden nuggets.

Personally I like to create a product showing people how to make money with a method that I have made money from or am currently making money from. Or if it's not the make money online niche I like to make a product that is based on something I did to get a result that I know others can duplicate. This way you can make the product your own without the risk of creating a product that is very similar to another product. I also, feel good about my product knowing that it is not theory and something that I have put to work and actually got results from.

Bonuses would be products addressing additional problems the target market may have or ways to speed up results or increase results.
