I had someone on fiverr that wrote a pretty good press release for me. And I used submitinme.com to have them submit the press release all over the web. But you could use fiverr for that as well.

  You may have done this already, but a good way to find one would be to search the WSO forum or warriors for hire for press release, and see who's offering the best prices and who has the best reviews, then make your choice that way.

I use elance and a retired journo to write mine. 80% of the time they go viral, and can really see some good results. My main aim is to get the phone ringing, subscribers subscribing, and sales. Fiverr will not get the quality you are after.

That may or may not be true. Like anything in marketing you don't know unless you test and try. Results vary depending on the person, niche, and a whole bunch of other factors that come into play. So I couldn't sit here and make that type of blanket comment. That being said, it's great that you found someone on elance that did the job.

That's another option to explore and test as well.

I think there are so many service providers out there who can give you quality press release writing. Just try to take a look at their prices, testimonials, etc., before getting committed to outsource your press release to that service provider.

I have been using writersaccess.com. I subcribed to prweb.com and have writersaccess write the press releases for me. I just copy a press release already written and tell them to write me something similar but dont copy. Probably about 10-13 bucks per press release.

I've also used PRweb.com in the past with pretty good results. You can probably write the release yourself. Just keep it simple and down to about 350 words.
