Anybody still using ezine articles for traffic.

We all know ezine articles is not as powerful for traffic generation as it used to be, but is anyone still getting good traffic from ezine articles.

I actually tried bum marketing late August of 2012 when lots of people said bum marketing was dead. I wrote about a hundred articles from August to October and generated $300 from affiliate marketing. It wasn't very profitable and it was very tedious work but it proved to me that money can still be made from ezine articles.

I stopped doing bum marketing via ezine articles because I realized there are more effective ways to make money online, but I'm very curious to see if others are still using ezine articles for traffic.

I gave up because my limited time is better spent elsewhere. So many other things can bring you traffic for the time spent writing ezine articles. Just my experience but maybe someone else out there is killing it?

There are some people still trying to, and a very few of them are even saying that it "works" for them (which I'm enough of a skepchick to find rather hard to believe, myself), but nobody who understands how article directories work is even trying to use them for that purpose.

For all the reasons explained in this post, no article marketer would want their potential customer traffic coming to their sites via an article directory anyway: that isn't how article directories work, isn't what they're intended for, and isn't - these days - a benefit they can provide, either. This thread explains how to use them: How do Article Directories work?

This recent thread contains further information: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8342596

Ezine Articles does, of course, have a role to play in article marketing, and many of us are using it regularly and benefitting from doing so ... but not in an attempt to get customer traffic which of course we'd much rather have coming directly to our own sites (as is easily arranged).

Threads like this normally fill with posts from people commenting that in their experience "EZA doesn't work as well as it used to", and it's a good thing to be aware, before reading their posts, that those are all people who were attempting to use EZA for a purpose which it was never actually designed to fulfil in the first place.

I gave that up too. I'm following the trend and using Social Media as much as possible.

I can't even remember the last time I wrote an article for Ezine's. I use other methods that seem to provide better results.

      I've never done that.

I don't think anyone's suggesting writing articles for them? There's certainly no point in doing that (and indeed that would be a big mistake: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html ).

However, there's no harm - and some benefit - from putting an additional copy of one's articles in EZA after everything else one has done with them.

Just search this (and other forums here on the WF) for posts by Alex Smith. You will probably still be reading and LEARNING (very important), this time next week . . .

They really angered me with the changes they made a couple of years ago, so I stopped submitting anything. (I also took more time to focus on SEO then)

Using EzineArticles really changed my life. It gave me my first four figure months online. It's too bad this business model really doesn't work that well anymore (if at all)

I never have had great results with article directories even when they came out. I have dozens of expert articles on there let me pull one to show you the stats.
Here is one that is expert and up almost a year. I don't call this anywhere near great and it's in a high traffic niche.

I have over 200 articles there.
There is no harm in adding new articles there.
People have found my blog via Ezine Articles so it works ok for me.

I don't get much traffic at all from EZA (EzineArticles) but I do get a decent amount from websites that have syndicated my articles from there.

I don't use EZA anymore, not even as an after thought. I get much better results from social media and even much better results from paid advertising. I don't think EZA will be around for much longer in it's current form.

I should of explained my stats or showed them all.
Now mind you I hear all the time that they get 30 percent 40 percent even 50 percent ctr from ezines.

I think a person is lucky to get 10 to 20 percent ctr, that one is

Publishers still use Ezine Articles for sourcing content. I seldom got any direct traffic from EZA, but I have been getting my articles passively syndicated at a fairly consistent average rate of 4-7 new publishers per week for over a decade.

In addition, despite its rather lowbrow article acceptance standards, it does provide exposure for showcasing your portfolio when marketing articles to prospective publishers. And in some niches, being labeled even as an "expert author" implies importance.
