Number 5, closely followed by 8

The contrast between sizes of the lettering in the two words gives it a nice balance...
I'd prefer to see the colours reversed on the words though.

The B, icon used in number 5 also has a more pleasing balance to it than the pool ball effect which has too much weight to it.

The 'virtual' three colour design is nice, the lack of white ring in most of the other designs instantly draws me to number 5.

Personally I don't like the looks of that 404 logo, just to plain and ordinary.

#6 is the absolute BEST for a number of reasons:

    a. By elimination, the outer ring on numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 is too large, creating a heavy effect to the entire graphic.

    b. Also by elimination, numbers 5 and 8 are graphically interesting, but the complexity of the graphic doesn't 'wear well' after several viewings.

This leaves # 6 and 9 - and while the tilt on # 9 shares some synchronicity with the concept of term 'offline', it is a bit dissonant when taken as part of the whole picture.

And aside from process of elimination, # 6 stands out on its own for its simplicity - which continues to be pleasing to the eye after several views, and the "O" and "B" are readily apparent, thus creating a stronger link to the text.

    # 6 Rules!

    ... imho

      I like number 5

The reason i picked that is becasue the B is much bigger making it easier to see and remeber the logo. The with the light green being contrasted by the blue makes it look brighter and better. To me it also looks kind of shinny and i know that people like shinny looking thinkgs.

Thats the reason i would pick it.

#5, it's simplest and most memorable. It could also be that it's in the middle so it's the first one I noticed.

I like 7 and 3..although in 7 I think the B should be lime as well. I like that it is tilted slightly as it is resembles offline- ie: off kilter off balance..lol just OFF slightly. Number 3 I like just because of the general contrasts and balances of color. HTH

To talk about graphics art, we will need a common language. Luckily, art has a language all its own using the elements and principles of art.

The elements of art are: form, line, shape, color, texture, space, value.

The principles of art are: emphasis, balance, harmony, varity, rythym, proportion, unity.

Number 2 uses emphasis very well. The eye is drawn to the letter "B" with the bold use of the blue color. The green backround provides balance with the words below.

Your use of value, or the lightness and darkness also provides balance in the picture, and makes it easy on the eye.

The "gel" effect provides the good use of texure, the item looks smooth but hard, and provides an element of realism to the sphere.

The shadow underneath provides the illusion of movement, whether it be up or down.

The other picture do not use the elements and principles of art as well.

I'd go with #9. But only if the blue circle was thicker to put more emphasis on the 'O' for 'Offline'. This might not work together but it's worth a look.

If it does work, then you'd make the O & B stand out more- O for Offline and the B for Blueprint.

There's lots of ways to play with this though so it's a tough call. You even might have tried to make the circle look more like a printing registration mark. Good call if you want to get more of the 'offline' aspect of the business across.

The "B" is perfect, rotated like it is. Leans towards the "Offline", and doesn't look so much like an 8-ball.

              Hey Darren,

After several views, my favourite is still #3.....

The logo gives an impression of being strong and stable, which
is something that Offline businesses would find desireable....

In some of the other designs, the connection between the O and
the B in the logo (from Offline and Blueprint) is not that apparent
at all. Whereas in #3 it comes across strongly....

I'll think outside the box and pick #10. That's the one that has the circled B in the colors of #3 but angled like #7 and where Offline is in a regular typeface in the green color like #7 but where Blueprints is in a bold typeface in the blue color like, well, none of the others.

i would say number two. I dont like the 5,6,8,9 versions as i feel the outer line is just too thin and theres too much white space within it. I also agree with the other person that the blueprints should be blue and thus the "B" should be blue. Thus making the "O" ( or what appears to be a pool ball ) green. Colors match the words and the pool ball shape, while it actually is the first letter of each word, one inside the other, lends itself to other pool related slogans as well.

Righto, this feels weird because your graphics rock and I'd recommend them to anyone who'd listen...but I'm going to say I don't like any of them.

However, I do think the graphic of #8 combined with the text of #7 would look pretty sweet, and here's my reasoning:

        - I join with everyone else who thinks the graphics which generate the 'cue ball' feel takes the logo theme in a direction it is clearly not intended to take. # 2, 3, 4 & 7 are out for graphics.

        - I really like the graphic in #8. The tilted graphic becomes a play on words for 'Offline' and gives the graphic a cheeky angle to those who notice. The ring detracts from the cue ball effect but keeps it compact and clean. The highlight adds to the depth of the graphic.

        - My only issue with #8 is the text. Offline is in blue, Blueprints is in green. The brain processes colour first, written word second, so we become confused when being presented with the written word for a colour in a different colour font. Ever seen that question in brain puzzles where you are supposed to read a sheet of words, but all it has are words for colours...but 'red' is in blue font, 'green' is in orange font, 'blue' is in yellow font...it get's freaken confusing. Same problem here. Take the text from #7, which has Blueprints in blue, and you have a winner. I say #7 because the font is nicely weighted against the ring around the graphic.

That's my two cents. Keep up the solid efforts mate.

It's funny how many people jump on a thread like this in a marketing forum when you offer them some money! Almost like a relfex action I guess you could say

Me, I like number 7. The green outline around the B prevents it from looking like a lawn bowls ball, as it appears on those without the outline. The angle on it suggests movement, which will provide the impression that you're active and actually going somewhere. The green B's on the other hand don't stand out enough to capture your attention. The text works just as well on number 7 also.

I can only talk for myself and my explanation as to why I replied after you had made your decision was:

I started before you made your decision but I needed to keep looking at your link to the images, so while I was flicking backwards and forwards and then being interrupted by a visitor to the house, by the time that I finally finished my message I was way behind the 'eight ball' :p

And the reason for my double post, wouldn't you know it, there was a database failure when I tried to submit my comment and so in trying to get it accepted it ended up being submitted twice! grrrrrr

            It happens often
