Help! Trying to figure out how to integrate eBook site, membership site and shopping cart

I so need some guidance with this...here's the story:

I'm about to launch and eBook. When someone buys the eBook they will be given the opportunity to join the membership site via an upsell.

I'm using a WordPress theme for my membership site and WishList Member for the membership site plugin.

I will also probably use 1Shopping Cart for the shopping cart.

The eBook will be promoted on it's own URL seperate from the membership site.

Here's my dilemma:

If someone buys the eBook and takes advantage of the upsell and joins the membership site, how will that work with WishList Member?

Will I then manually enter each person who joins as a member?

Can I have the same 1Shopping Cart account set up for both the membership site and the eBook site?

I don't even know if I'm asking the right questions...my mind keeps going around in circles.

Can anyone help?

    Here's how you do it:

    In 1shoppingcart, in the product options window under "Page navigation", set the "Thank you URL' for the Upsell as the registration link for the appropriate membership level you've set up in wishlist. (From the wishlist dashboard, click "membership level" and copy the registration link). (also, I'm assuming you've set up a membership level. If not, you need to do that before anything else. Call in "basic" or "gold" or whatever is right for what you're offering)

    Then, when someone orders the upsell, they'll be brought into your membership site on the registration page, where they'll choose their username and password and automatically be added to your member base.

    that should do it!

      Ahhh...so the Thank You URL page will have a sales pitch for the membership site...then when the person clicks to become a member, they go right to the membership site registration page.

      Jon...you're awesome. Sometimes my head is just swimming with all these things that need to get done and I just can't get a handle on it.

      But, the first time is always going to take longer because of the learning curve. Thank goodness for helpful Warriors like you!

        Right, as long as by "clicks to become a member" you mean "places an order for the upsell and pays through 1shopping cart".

        So, in a nutshell:

        1. Customer buys ebook
        2. thank you url sends them to upsell sales page
        3. If they want the upsell. they're brought back to shopping cart
        4. thank you URL from upsell order sends them to wishlist member registration page.
