How Much $$ / Month Do You Make On CB & How?

I've been doing CB on the side for a few months now.

Its honestly not a lot of work once you find a working strategy. But it took me a few months just to figure out the ropes. So in that respect it was a serious pain in the ass. But I finally feel like things are making sense now. And I feel like I'm on a road to consistent growth. My hops have been doubling every 2 weeks and so have my sales now.

My main income comes from my local lead gen sites but I'll be scaling up my YT videos soon.

How much money do YOU make every month with CB?

I figure in the next 2-3 months I can reach $100 / day just by ranking a few more videos. Then after that.... it seems there aren't any boundaries.

Clickbank is a platform where marketers can advertise their products for affilates to come promote it. In its simplest form that is what CB is.

Clickbank, you can promote others products for pretty hefty commissions.

Are you using the launch jacking method or low comp keywords related to the products?

I'm ashamed to admit I don't have a single CB sale under my belt.

I had $30k week before on clickbank during the hot forex launches a few years back. Though lots of $2k weeks etc..

I don't do much with clickbank anymore but do make a few thousand a year from old product links etc..

I use to just make review videos. (real reviews ie me showing me use the product my REAL results with it etc...)

For one forex product I actually did a weekly results video each week for a year. Each video was getting about 2000 views on youtube.

I moved on to other things and so much junk on clickbank wasn't worthwhile selling to my list.

moved to my own products but don't promote them much.

Looking for GOOD clickbank products now to promote but would prefer some recurring billing stuff.

Well said - I completely identify with and agree with all of that.

It's obviously a totally reasonable and legitimate and relevant question (in a forum subtitled "Where we talk about making money"!), but in reality few people like saying, perhaps because it always sounds a bit like "income claims" made on sales pages. :p

I stopped giving any income figures about 3 years ago (being appalled, at the time, at some of the hostility and resentment it apparently caused) but am happy to repeat what I'd previously said, before I stopped, which is "on the board anyway". I earned almost nothing at all for 4 months, then progressed very quickly to about $3,000/$3,500 per month in another 2-3 months. A year after that (i.e. 18 months after starting) I reached five figures monthly, without at that point ever having earned less in any month than in the month before it (even over Christmas).

ClickBank was my sole income source, during that period (and for a lot longer, too, though it isn't now).

Sounds right to me. My time-lag from "knowing what I was doing and doing something that worked" to earning $3,000 in a month (which is your "$100 per day") was only about 2 months. But I'd also done 4 months "unpaid work" before that. (I should perhaps say "deservedly unpaid and grotesquely misguided work".)

I know nothing about videos (and don't really want to, will you ever speak to me again? ) but assuming it's "something that works for you", I see no reason why your target shouldn't be achievable.

That's more or less right, I think.

With hindsight, I now know that I limited my business's growth by not scaling it up as I could have done if I'd been in better health, by being slow to outsource/employ VA's (that one's now rectified!), and in other ways. But it's all upside from there, and it can grow as long as you know how to manage it. Some very different skills are required for that part, and I was slower than some other people to develop and use them properly.

Disclosure: I've also been very lucky to have started off with what turned out to be valuable writing skills, before I was even online, and to have been involved throughout in article marketing at a time when (for a big mixture of extraneous and fortuitous reasons) it's continued to grow and strengthen and gradually become a little easier than it was when I started in 2008/9.

Nizzze ;-) ... are you using the Launch Jacking method? The last launch jack i did was for the DJK Reversal from Chris X and Ken. I earned $900 in 2 weeks, not that much though, but it pays the bills right? Think i'm going to scale this method up, it's a great way to earn money with Clickbank, but theres a lot of competition. Hope that helps!

Thanks Alexa & everyone else! Its great to be reminded that there are people out there who can make a full time income with CB. Its also great to be reminded that YT isn't the only way to get hops.

To the people asking for more details. Honestly, aside from making good content, and traffic... I think you need to be a dork like I am. I've always thought CB was a lot of "fun", even when I wasn't making money. Sure it was frustrating, but its a lot of fun going through the market place and seeing all the products. Almost like I'm shopping w/out spending any money.

What I do at first is generate a list of products that I think people would actually buy. And there are a lot of products with bad salespages so it helps to really take your time reading them. NEVER rush any part of the process.

And try to promote salespages with videos on them. I might be wrong but I heard they convert better. I think they can trigger emotions much better than text can too (if they're done well).

One I have a list of general products, I use adwords to get keyword ideas. But now I always filter out keywords under 3,000 exact searches a month. I started off by ranking 5 low search videos (between 300-800 ESM), and realized that I need to target bigger keywords. Its counterintuitive but I find it to be LESS work to target bigger keywords.

    So what I do essentially:

    1) Make a list of keywords over 3,000 exact searches a month. Then I check all those keywords to make sure a YT video is on page 1. Then I check my competitors backlinks to make sure his links are under 500-1000 links. If their links are low like that, it barely takes any effort to outrank them.

    2) I make a good sales video using power point and my mic. I started off wasting like 15-20 minutes a video but my last videos I've been spending 2-3 hours. So if you're going to make a video, make it as HQ / credible as possible. It WILL make a HUGE difference come ranking time.

    3) This is all blackhat. I basically get enough retention views and likes to hit page 1 of YT. Thats all I care about is getting my video ANYWHERE on page 1 of YT. Usually 1 quick blast and I'll hit page 1 of YT in 4-7 days.

    4) I build links with GSA and SB (although at first I started with nothing but SB). I make sure my anchor text is done right then send all the links to an indexing site. I actually just bought GSA 2 weeks ago and that alone will help me scale 10 fold. And yes SB actually works great to rank YT videos. But I find it too much work as opposed to GSA. You will need lists with 1-2 million urls just to get enough links indexed in a typical campaign. With GSA a much higher % get indexed so I can build less backlinks (+ they are more diverse/better all around).

    So to simplify -

Make a HQ video, make sure you're targeting keywords / picking battles you KNOW you can win, then build links. I never go for product keywords but informational / educational keywords related to the niche. There is a lot more of these and thus a lot more "battles you can win".

What did I find the hardest?

Without a doubt ranking the videos. But I'll tell you what, its 100xs easier than I would have ever thought. Before I'd blast, wait a few weeks, blast again, wait a few weeks... scratch my nose.. and it wasted a lot of time.

But eventually you gain such a good understanding of EVERYTHING you need to do from day 1, and thats the hardest thing I had to learn. I was guessing way too much early on. But these days I'll see a competitors video, and I know specifically that I have to do x, y and z on day 1, nothing else, and my video will rank 3-4 weeks down the road. Sometimes I still misjudge and if that happens I'll have to do more "booster campaigns". But I found if you overshoot your competitors by 120-150% (backlinks) thats usually enough.

    Anyway, thats about it.

    Hope that helps.

    -Red

ps- I am NOT doing launch jacking no. I've read about it and know people make money with it, but its not my cup of tea personally.

And i don't think it's black hat. Don't know how you're using GSA but just in case, try to go for contextual backlinks only (less is more) and strict rules (low external links, some page rank etc).

I have been a Clickbank Vendor for about 18months now...

originally I had 2 physical DVDs that I made into downloads and put on clickbank! saves a hell of a lot of time queuing in the post office....lol

i have also added a membership site and a cheap ebook site to these also...so i have 4 vendor accounts in total....

the one thing im most pleased with is the Membership site!!! the recurring billing is great! plus when people cancel...quite often they dont ask for a refund on previous months!
so not only does your account look in good standing (low refunds) but you have more money...

i would say that over all 4 accounts i make about $930.00 per week...which is enough to not work...which is great!

im currently just setting up an upsell flow...which appears to be a bit confusing...but im really excited as im hoping to put all 4 products together in some kind of flow to maximize my revenue...

its a really fun place to be!!!

Question: When you say that you "blast" what does that mean exactly? Are you doing something to add traffic? I am not familiar with the term

Blasting backlinks to your URL with the tools

I come from a lot of blackhat forums, easily rank videos.
But I have GSA SER, GSA Captcha Breaker, GSA Indexer. Very helpful tools.

Anyways gj op with your earnings!

Informative info RedShifted, Thanks for sharing...

I am a newbie in affiliate system who use Clickbank + Youtube. I am just wondering, could you reach to a reasonable income by this method (ie CB + YT)? You didn't exactly answer the question you mentioned at the title of this thread! Do you use any landing or squeeze page with the CB products you offer via "Youtube"?
I would like to have an income of say 1000-2000$ a month as soon as pssible just by affiliating via CB + YT. Are you guys thinking that it is possible (and if so with how many YT videos (yes I know that there is no exact answe for this question, But even an approximation would be helpful!))? I would like the experienced guys who promote the CB products via YT" confirm the possiblity of this goal please.

Hey Redshifted, like you I've been in the local lead gen space for a while and this year started a non-local niche promoting some CB products as well.

I've had some success promoting CB with links at the bottom of my blog and a banner ad, but it's not quite as lucrative as other website monetization strategies so I focus promoting CB products via e-mail. I'm still a pretty weak email sequence writer so sales are lower than they should be given the number of subscribers but I've been getting several sales a week now for a couple of months.

I did some YT vids, but frankly tired of the SEO stuff so never really did much there. Now I use YT for hosting vids on my site for my readers. If they rank, it's a bonus.

Summary: links/banner ads on site works, but need tons of traffic like 3,000 to 4,000 visitors a day to generate sales - and even then it's inconsistent.

Promoting via e-mail works reasonably well - I take it some people have wild success with it via e-mail ... I just haven't cracked that code yet, but working on it.

Suggestion for you - a while back I made some decent sales buying YT views with Adwords which are still cheap. Selling CB via YT vids isn't my focus now, but it worked and if you're making high quality vids, you might want to try it. You can get thousands of views fast and they keep on coming. I was paying $.05 to $.08 per view.

It's going to be extremely difficult for anyone to offer opinions about what, specifically, you're doing wrong, Devilfish, without looking at everything you're doing - which is not really practicable in a forum. But in my experience, when people have been struggling for months and months and not getting anywhere to speak of, with ClickBank, they're almost invariably doing things which don't fulfil one or more of the three basic fundamentals set out here (and without fulfilling all three of these, one way or another, there's very, very rarely any real money worth talking about): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

Thanks for sharing OP. I've tried this in the past and, like you say, it took a lot of failure and perseverance before it "clicked" and I could see the strategy holistically.

As the OP and other Warriors point out, quality makes a big difference:

Instead of uploading 10 average videos a day, try and focus on creating fewer high quality videos. Think about it. If you can create really good videos (and I'm not talking about production quality, but content quality) they can go viral and they'll get lots more views.

Having your own product on Clickbank is quite a lot of work at first, but every product I've put out I've made sales simply because of Clickbank's affiliate program. People find my product and will promote it - awesome. I always recommend to people to start off as an affiliate first though. Build a blog or a mailing list, then monetize it with Clickbank affiliate products. Once you're making decent money from that, then you can choose to create your own product and then offer it to your blog/list.

Many of the people who aren't in IM/MMO niches aren't going to be willing to say.

Personally, I spend a lot of time researching niches, and one of the criteria that matter to me is "how competitive they are". So it pays me to keep very quiet about all my niches (and to use a different pen-name in each niche so that nobody can discover them).

Originally Posted by sidneyng View Post

        Any/every/all niches can make money.

Whether a niche is profitable doesn't depend on the niche: it depends on the marketer.

The specific mistake to avoid is the assumption that one's own chances of making money in a niche have anything much to do with the niche's overall available money. The "biggest budget niches" (health, wealth, relationships) are often the hardest in which for people to get started, and there are reasons for that.

Ultimately (if you'll excuse a metaphor) it's about whether you want to sell jeans or skating videos. The jeans market is absolutely enormous: everyone buys them, tens of thousands sell them. The skating video market is far smaller but almost nobody specialises in selling them, so it's comparatively easy money.

It isn't "how big the pie is" that matters: it's "how big your slice is", because it's your slice that feeds you and pays your mortgage and bills.

The niches in which the most profits are collectively made by marketers and the niches in which you have the highest chance of making profits are normally mutually exclusive. They're just two completely different things.

Starting off from the premise that "the most profitable niches" are also the best ones to try is a way of stacking the deck against yourself, not in your favor.

Several of the reasons for that are discussed in the threads linked to, below.

It's explained in more detail here: Niche Selection Roadblock

And here: Weight Loss Market: Still Profitable ?

And here: Most Lucrative niche in Internet Marketing?

And here: Guess who is going to have the most profitable business?

How many of the 15,000+ have you actually seen, to be offering an assertion like this?

Or are you perhaps (as people usually are when they offer such ill-informed, sweeping generalizations as this) thinking mostly of the "IM-related" and "MMO-related" niches, and completely ignoring about 298 other niches represented on ClickBank?

Originally Posted by misslenali View Post

Exactly so. Much of the available income in affiliate marketing comes from building relationships with people and eventually selling them multiple different products. That's among the many reasons why so many of us here are making our livings by promoting ClickBank products.

Awesome stuff. I remember those days of making $50 or so a day.

That was when I first came into the warrior forum and a few seniors who were making like $30k a month helped me. OMG! my world changed.

My business is focused on 3 different areas, and I make about $9k a month but that fluxuates.

    1st AREA!

You need a goal in mind first, and realise being an affiliate is awesome, but having your own product on clickbank, you can really kill it. A vendor has more hard work setting up, but then you are the commander of teh army and can get in many affiliates from your listbuilding. I would say affiliates come in hard and fast for me, and i have to do LESS WORK to MAKE MORE!

    2nd AREA!

List building. Forget the morons in here, and that say list building does not work. I have not or will ever find anything as good as listbuilding. Clickbank especially. I even have student who had no money, and has been using small lists in mail chip (which is free i might add) to make about $300 a week. No he only has a list of about 850 or so, but I was in awe, because he showed me what he was doing, and I told him, all you need is more leads and you will be making about $4k a month.

He realises if you want to make it on clickbank as an affiliate you need to build your list. If you want to absolutly kill it on CLIBANK, you need to build a list, and then offers heaps of stuff to your buyers. Treat them like gold because, they are like having gold nuggets in your back pocket.

I mean even in 2013, when you see all the WF threads about GMAIL this, and GMAIL that, I cannot still find a better way for sales and conversions to come to me, than Affiliates and sending emails to my NEW lists and buyers lists. I thought about this the other day, and so one asked "What happens if you site go down, or taken away!" I said i still have a $9k a month business....... they looked at me stupid...... HUH? they said....I said I still have my list of subscribers....to me this is worth much more!

PEOPLE JUST DO NOT GET IT!

I paid $880 AU and did a deal with another niche site owner here on OZ. A solo ad, but that ad bought in a 303% ROI intrerest. I did this, because owner showed me proof his list was pretty responsive. I did not believe him, but he showed me live...and I could not resist this solo ad, because i was expecting to double my money.....but I tripled it. Again! it hones in on the fact that having a LIST is just like having people lined up outside your house waiting for you next awesome message. It is not only important for the masses, but for your relationship and quadrupling your chances of making money. Especailly on clickbank.

Have a look at the tops sellers or affiliates on CLICKBANK, what do they have in common. they invest in front ends, back ends, and everything in between. They kill it cause they have funnels, and you do not have a funnel without having a list first. YOU SEE NOW???

Anyone that is NOT BUILDING A LIST and trying to make it on clickbank....good luck, you are gunna need lots of it. Its not only a good asset to have, but I would say sending and building trust then sending them over to a clickbank product after is the easiest way to make a sale.

    3rd AREA!

The follow up. I know I lost 10's of thousands in not doing this, in my early days. I even hire 2 guys, who are awesome I might add to follow up on leads and politely ask and survey customers all the time. not only do you make lots more money, as I have found, when you follow up, you are finding out more about what people want, and add that into your front ends, back ends. heck we are even creating a new product because in 2013 there is focus on a totally new niche INSIDE our main niche. So there is more money waiting for us there.

If you are not following up, you are leaving hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars on the table. i learnt this the hard way, but now trying to fix this up.

I have found even if you are are an affiliate on clickbank in 2013 its gunna take 8 - 10 times before someone will buy or purchase from you. Even in teh relationship niche we kill it, but the video we offer as HELP or CONTENT could be sold as products themselves as we took the time to create awesome content to build trust, and then click and buy what we are offering.

People want to get good advice from you these days. And want to think more like this in 2013 "Hey if this is his FREE STUFF...holy moley, just imagine how good his paid stuff is? WOW"

You have to get them thinking that and follow up. ONCE THEY BUY, follow up again and offer them more great content and more stuff to buy. Its more a science than an art, but once you practice and get a few sales behind your belt, the rest is history.

I still remember the first clickbank check I recieved. I photo copied it and hang in on the wall. Still when I wake up in the morning and log into GMAIL and see the CB SALE notifications ....i still get excited now as I did from day 1. I dunno why, this is just my passion, and Its a reminder that I never have to work a shitty 9 to 5'er a single day in my life.

Work hard, BUILD UP YOUR LIST and test, and you will see results.

    Hope this helps.

ok, I am obviouslly doing something incredibly wrong when it comes to CB. I make sales, but not as many as I'd like. I tried blogging, I tried forum posting, I have done, PPC, CPV, blah blah, but I have never consistently made videos. This does seem to be the thing that most of you are saying works. NOW MY question is how do you video what you are doing on your computer screen? Is there a feature with a web cam that will do a screen capture as my web cam is part of my laptop, or do I have to get a separate camera to record my screen? As far as the uploading and ranking my videos that's not the issue, but if I want to promote a product I use, I would like to just show the screen and talk people through what I do, any help?

yes! but you just let the secret out of the bag if you want to make BIG $$ on clickbank, as many hinted at in here....

Its simple as you QUOTED : I have a attractive landing page for each & every product

NICE! you are light years ahead of everyone else trying to make a buck on clickbank. That one sentence could make you crap loads of money if a newbie had the right temperament.

The guys that make MILLIONS of dollars online each month do not do it from article marketing and direct linking LOL. It all comes down to LIST BUILDING optin rates, and actaul hard work. Not looking at porn sites all day. LOL, although that is a whole niche in itself. LOL.

This sounds like an interesting method. Although im not sure what the scaling potential of it is as although there are a lot of problem solving niches on Clickbank, how many of them are popular such as quit smoking so will have plenty of people tweeting about it.

I haven't tried that particular method, but it sounds like it would work because you are promoting the product directly to targetted traffic.

I'd prefer searching for video that doesn't have any description link with a great daily views (e.g >3000 views daily). Just contact the channel's owner and ask how much do I have to pay to make him put my link onto his description box.
This way's still working on me.
Save me tons of time and money.

That's awesome! What does your video campaign actually involve? I assume you're using it as a traffic source to build an email list?
