First off, I apologize if this is in the wrong location. I didn't see anywhere else to put it.

I am just getting into the online money making scene and I'm unsure what I should do. This week I started writing articles and I've made about 70$ on PayPal, I will have more soon.

I don't know what to do next! I was thinking of making a website to advertise my writing, so I can get paid more. Someone suggested that on my other post. Others have said that I could make more money on Affiliate Marketing. I'm not opposed to blogging either, I've heard people have had success making money on that/selling it them flippa. I've heard it takes years to monetize a blog though, and I'd like to start making money quickly.

If anyone would like to give me some advice that would be greatly appreciated! I'm really looking for people who have had success that could help me along the way. I'm glad I signed up for this forum, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

What do you want to do, that is the question, is it just about making money or do you like to write.

I just realized I'm unclear if the articles you wrote were for yourself or a client.

If you made that money by selling your articles, I'd suggest you start writing for yourself.

I'm still amazed every time I hire a freelanced (usually for only a few hundred bucks) to write an ebook for me that I later end up selling for $30 to $100 over and over again.

Obviously not every project works out but some of them end up being 4 and 5 figure a month projects.

As Eben Pagan says "EVERYTHING is a test"

Pick your niche, get your own product up on clickbank and write articles for yourself until you can use the profits to test out some paid traffic!

The fact that you have already made some money this quickly after starting is fantastic. This proves you have what it takes in term of taking action and doing the work.

There are many great opportunities out there for you: what matters is that you choose what you feel works best for you and keep focused.

Get some free or affordable WSOs on how to create a WSO, building a list, niche sites, heavy traffic, affiliate marketing, quick startup, etc. While some people say that this might be jumping around and wasting money, I view it as getting a "sampler" of the various business models and then you will probably get an itch to do one of them... then once you decide on a business model you can see if the WSO creator does coaching or just ask him if he knows a good coach... It would be in his interest to help you.

I don't think you'll get far by writing articles for people - it's not marketing It just having a freelancer job - Even in the case you do like your job it's still a job where you sell your time for money...

I'm sure you will find plenty of advice on creating your own digital product for example - "how to become a Freelance Writer" which you could promote and actually create an online marketing business around it...

I think you two are both getting at the heart of the problem. So far I have been writing for other people. I want to make money writing for myself, but I don't know how! How should I go about writing for myself. Should I make a website, blog, ebook, etc. I'm just getting into the freelancing business and there are just so many ways to go about it. What are some of the ways you all have been successful?

Here's what's been working incredibly well for me:

1- Pick your niche and find a unique angle to promote it (a reason why your ebook/members area is different than everything else in the market.)

2- Create your product and submit to clickbank (my 2 biggest hits are both optimizepress membership sites with plain text and a few powerpoint/camtasia videos) Videos are completely optional!

3- Create a vsl using powerpoint and camtasia or whatever the equivalent is on a mac. If you have the money to invest, Jon bensons 3xvsl course has paid for itself many times over for me but if you can't afford it right now... DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT! Download and study a few of the top converting vsls in any niche and do your best to emulate what they're doing. (Hint: notice what you feel as you watch these videos and look at how you can create the same types of feelings in your viewers). P.S. you know a winning vsl when you see it being advertised on banners over and over.

4- Get traffic. I first did this by writing articles then re-purposing them. I would submit some to my blog and others to article directories and then use the content to make a vsl style video. Upload it to youtube, vimeo and all the top video sites. Submit the powerpoint to slideshare. Strip the audio and submit to mp3 sites. PDF to PDF sites. There's so many ways to use 1 piece of content over and over to get massive free traffic. Just be sure you submit to different sites in different formats (mp3, mp4, pdf) so that you don't get penalized for duplicate content. Make infographs and submit everywhere <--- in the right niches, these are HUGE!

Once you've got all that done, you now have just 2 things to spend your time on... get mo' traffic and keep split testing!

Your goal is to keep testing your offerpage (page elements and vsl) and backend (continuity offer / more products) until you can make it profitable with paid traffic (cpm, ppc)... once you make that profitable, you're rich

It may or may not happen though so the other half of the time... keep creating freeline content to generate free traffic as outlined in step 4.

This way even if you never make it profitable with paid traffic, you're still increasing your revenue every month.

Even with free traffic, you can make a killing!

Ya you could get more freelance writing jobs here on warrior forum, or on elance, odesk, and many other freelance writing sites.

Or you could take tons of different routes... blogging, create your own products, affiliate business... the options are almost endless

blogging can be such a good route to take, since you are into writing anyway. you can further monetize that by putting up your own site and encouraging advertisers and company owners, and similar entities to be published on your site.

Blogging is a pretty easy way to get started since you're into writing! My advice is write good stuff and focus on the simple traffic methods first like forum posting and blog commenting. The rest cost MONEY and it has a significant learning curve
