where to get an opt-in list

Hey warriors,

I was just wondering where I could get a cheap 5,000 person quit smoking opt in list. I'm new at IM and I am looking for a list because I have not been able to make my own.

    Actually, the only "cheap" lists you will find are all quite worthless. Don't waste your money on them.

    Why haven't you been able to build your own? I'd be all over twitter with this one. First learn how to build a quality following.

    Build a great info site reviewing products, create a short video/download for squeeze page bait...tweet like heck and be real in your tweets....you'd be amazed how many folks would be interested for themselves or friends/relatives.

    "stop smoking" is a HUGE niche, but you can get traction with tools like twitter.

    Selling a targeted niche list might be the biggest mistake an IM'er makes. The Money is in the list. Also, why don't you build a list yourself, its not that hard. Write a small report and then make a site. Use Aweber for the subscription purpose. It's always good to have to your own list of subscribers who believes you :-)

    I would never buy a list. In most cases you don't know where they
    really got their names from plus it will cause you to get tons of
    spam complaints if you do try to mail the list.

    In most cases it's almost always best to build a list yourself.

    When you are messing with twitter, you got to build a relationship and it takes a lot of time to build. I have bought almost every single twitter software,ebook, videos and other stuff.

    But when you make opt in sites, you are already make a relationship once they sign up to your subscribing list. People will think that your last free product was very nice. So they would think that the PAID VERSION would be much better. The money is in the list , mate! It is proven!

    Hummingbird defeats what you are trying to do, you are wanting to build a personal relationship with your followers, not some sort of mass following by fake accounts.
