A Blessed Day: Local Business Profiting from International Visitors
Maybe I'm just too excited!
As some of you may already knew, I am working in front of my PC almost 12 hours a day but at the same time, I also own a local auto repair shop (body repair, auto denting, painting). You can see the link in my sig for reference. I've been running this shop for more than a year now after I retired from my day job as a manufacturing supervisor in local Nissan Motors plant. I created this site just for a quick reference for my local customers but this site hasn't been updated for months as I am busy with my other online ventures. Besides, I already have a lot of customers that sometimes my technicians can't handle and I have to refer them to other shops.
To make the story short, last week I checked my google analytics and noticed that 62% of my visitors are from US and only 19.8% are from my country despite my site ranked on first page of local google search. I keep thinking how I turn these visitors into profit. My site is averaging just around 120 unique visitors a day and almost 70 of them are from US. At the same time, I keep receiving emails from people asking me about painting "how tos". They said they can't bring their car because they are too far from me so it would be better if I can send them some tips. I thought I had to make my own product but a second thought confuses me because the tool and materials that we use here are different from that in US and Europe.
So I decided to find a similar product that I can promote. At first, I browsed Amazon but couldn't find anything that is profitable. I then visit cbengine.com and I found a related product (spraypaintvideos.com).
I posted its promotional banner on my site and leave it there for a week. I actually forgot about this thing as I don't even visit this site everyday. Today, when I logged into my CB account, I have $552.52. I thought it was a mistake because CB actually zeroed my account last week after almost a year of being dormant (http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...times-row.html).
I got 14 sales in just 5 days and all from US! Now I am thinking of improving this site to focus on US and other foreign visitors! The niche is super targeted and people who stumbled to my site are actually buyers and I think that's the reason why I got sales everyday.
I am expecting the same or better result next week
