2nd Best Option TO Ezine Articles

Would like to submit my articles to another directory besides Ezine articles. Is anyone getting any type of traffic by submitting the "same" article to another directory these days?

Thanks if you have any suggestions

For all the reasons explained in this post, no article marketer who understands how article directories work is trying to get potential customer traffic by submitting articles to a directory. That isn't how they work. The last thing you'd want is for a visitor from a search engine to find your article in an article directory rather than on your own site.

My lukewarm suggestion is GoArticles (not ArticlesBase!), which I've used myself in the past, but I think it's extremely unlikely that there'll be any additional benefit to having your articles there once they're in Ezine Articles anyway.

If you can find an article directory specific to your niche, that would be a far better bet (not always easy at all, I know, depending on the niche).

I suspect the key words there may be "in the past". I also used to do this at one time, but don't still do so, now.

Yes (unless it's all changed very recently and I didn't know).

No you can use Ms word, they will convert your article.. i don't use this method to promote cb again because i don't like to write 2-3 article per day.. and i'm not sure how effective this method to sale cb now.. but when i check the traffic i still see a little traffic from my old article..

Ya scribd or Go articles are good. You could also read out your article and record it mp3 version and submit to podcast directories. Edit that recording and put it over a slideshow then submit to video sharing sites...

Yes If you are really good in producing different media like article , audio, video, powerpointsliders or infographics very fast, then you can try to submit them in multiple directories. But you have to try out what work for you more

As far as generating traffic is concerned, go for Articlebase.

I hardly see any actual traffic coming from article directory sites. I believe that the majority of articles on these sites are for one reason and that is for backlinks.

Articles Sites/Directories have become a breeding ground for people looking for content to use with article spinners.

If you looking for quality sites, stick to ones that require approve other than eZines the only other one that I know of that is hard to get published on is InfoBarrel.
Places that are auto approve like Go Articles have become so water downed.

I barely see any at all, I'm pleased to say. Thanks to all those Panda updates coming to the rescue of the article marketing community, I'm now able to use article directories for their intended purpose without the risk that my potential customer traffic will ever see those copies of my articles at all.

Maybe, but I'd hope not, for their authors' sakes.

Those backlinks were pretty much worthless even before all those Panda updates deliberately decimated the SEO potential of article directories. Even as long ago as 2009, when I started studying/researching SEO seriously, the authors of many of the standard, respected SEO textbooks were (rightly) explaining that one would typically need something between 50,000 and 100,000 of those "backlinks" to confer the same linkjuice benefit as that from one backlink on a high quality, relevant site.

In these post-Penguin days, of course, one would need far more of them, to get any SEO benefit, than one could realistically have while still avoiding a major SEO penalty for "over-optimization". :p

Indeed ... but that isn't actually an article directory.

Let's just put it this way...

The second best is like the horse that finished second to Secretariat in the Belmont. So far behind that it didn't even show in the finish line photo.

You shouldn't be looking to directories for traffic anyway. At least not general directories like EzineArticles and its kin. The only directory worth submitting to for traffic is a tightly niched theme directory, although it often won't be called that.

The trick with these is that the owner usually has a stake in the quality of what they allow, so getting into these directories is not as easy as pasting your content in a box and hitting submit.

I'll second this one. The big dog in podcast directories being itunes.

Host the audio podcast on your own wordpress site and then post that link on a facebook fan page and twitter (you can automate that connection)
This sounds like a really great idea, can you expand this tip little further?

That depends what you're trying to use them for, doesn't it?

"Google updates" aren't relevant to people using them as article directories.

If you're trying to "use" them for their own traffic and/or their own backlinks, then yes: don't be too surprised if that hasn't worked, worth talking about, for the last 3 years or so. But that ill-perceived idea was only ever based on a fundamental misunderstanding of what an article directory is.

(I mean this facetiously, not rudely: there's no law against reading a thread before you post a reply in it, by the way ).
