So I built two site on keywords i bought from a well know person on the warrior forum. I checked a couple of the keywords before building the sites and they looked fine though i did not look very closely. Now that Ive spent around $1000 on both sites I started seo and found out that most of the keywords I was trying to rank for would be really hard to get on the first page. I would be competing against websites like webmd.com and bodybuilding.com big sites like that. What do I do now? SEO is not really an option anymore. One site is amazon and the other adsense.
Thanks

    Hey Michael,

If you really feel that SEO is not really and option then you have two choices.

    1. Use one of the many other methods to generate traffic (just search the forum).
    2. Write it off, say lesson learned and find easier keywords to SEO.

I lost $2995 on a business when I first started IM back in 2008 and just had to say lesson learned.

    Some times it happens man.

    Best of luck to you.

Could always flip/sell the sites, if you don't want to promote them.

Of build traffic through other means, such as article marketing, social marketing or forums. Sure less work than SEO for major competition.

  • You'd need to provide more information on the sites to get a great answer. One thing you have going for you is that SEO isn't a great traffic generation method anyway, so you're really not out too much here.

If you are able, start writing high-quality, attention grabbing content for the sites. When you're not doing that, start trying to introduce yourself to other individuals in the same niche. Offer your content for syndication. This will bring in the traffic you need, and it will be extremely targeted.

    Good luck!

    Michael

You're getting some good advice, but I think everyone is tip-toeing around one of the main problems you have - you didn't do proper keyword research before you built those sites. You could have saved a ton of time and money had you actually done some research on the keywords you were going to build for. While it's great to get products from someone who is "well known" you should never trust someone so much that you don't check the info you're about to work with. Just my 2 cents.
