That's something you need to test.

In the past, I have been amazed at how many more subscribers a popup gathers than a form somewhere on the page. But that's me and that was then.

You need to test for yourself.

Did you mean the aweber lightbox? I installed that on my website the other day and so far have had one subscriber from it. It is too early yet to say whether it will garner more that the subscribe form on the right side that I have. Still testing, but I'll let you all know in a couple of months, lol.

Oliver, Testing is going to be key. In my experience, it will probably get you more sign ups, but maybe not as high quality for responsiveness, ect...Give it a whirl!

Any type of popup should usually get you higher optins than a sidebar widget. But it doesn't have to be one or the other. Use both.
