Is there anyone out there who will do 1-2-1 mentoring without charging the earth?

Skype messaging is OK, I can pay by the hour.

Please PM me if interested, as well as the fee I'd be happy to write a testimonial.

    • Thank you, I appreciate it.

I still hope I will find a way to re-pay you one day, but we can discuss this later

What's the best way of getting in touch? Should I send you a PM?

      Regards

      Dan
  • Yes and tell me what you need help in. somethings I just can't help at all.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Thanks for your time hustlinsmoke , I received some useful tips via email !!
  • Your very welcome. I hope I can help you.
  • 1. If you are looking for a mentor then you will need to place an ad in the paid section of the forum: Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You

    2. You won't find a great mentor if you aren't willing to spend decent money. You will get what you pay for. A cheap mentor will typically give you cheap results. It's the mentors that cost an arm and a leg you want to work with.

Think about it, if someone is able to mentor you for not much money then doesn't it really tell you just how little their time is worth to them.

    • Will I think I misunderstand you, since I respect you I will ask. So if he gets advice it is not worth anything if he paid little for it or nothing at all.

I do see the point if someone charges 195 for mentoring or coaching for a month then yes I would think twice.

Just checking in to see what you meant is all, no disrespect meant at all.

    • I don't mind paying a decent rate per hour, but some guys want to charge 1,000s per hour and thats out of my budget

I also offered to provide testimonials, join their list and buy their products - win win ?
    • This is 100% true.

  • I will tell you this. It is invaluable to have a mentor. I do not believe in paying for coaching, I think if you motivation and a desire to succeed, tripled with a plan of action you will succeed.

Everything can be done with a presence of standing back and watching.

It comes down to one thing, Showing you know what you are doing and building a list.
Build a quality list and your work is done for the most part. You still have to treat the list like gold but getting them on there is the hard part.
  • The majority here will answer what they think is politically correct ect. Or whatever.
It is up to us to make the right decision. I have seen mentors open a door and give freebys away they would otherwise charge 1000 bucks for.

It's not about price its about quality. I still stead fast in my statement. Don't get a mentor at first.
  • The content that these so called 'gurus' charge for thousands and thousands can mostly be found for free around the net. You just need to know how to filter the right information...

Just my two cents worth though...
  • One of the absolute worst things a mentor/coach can do is to give away their services for free or low cost.

Not because they are greedy. It's not about that.

It's about VALUE. People value and use what they pay for MUCH MORE than they value free or "cheap" stuff. It's a proven fact.

I learned a long time ago that the best way to help a client get results was to charge high prices because it lights a fire under them to take action and get results and they end up doing way more than they ever would had they not had to pay through the nose for it.

  • Some members have PM-ed me, thank you so much !

I have reached my limit of 10 PMs, so suspect a couple of messages were bounced back, but inbox is now cleared so please if you tried previously can you try again?

    Thank you
  • The thing about getting advice for free is people don't generally value things they get for nothing.

But they value the things they pay for more.

In the scope of education, college costs a lot of money. Hence why most take it very seriously. Because it's a huge investment.

Then you have free coaching. The advice may be amazing. But the person who pays nothing for it will most likely give it little to no value and most likely will do nothing with it.

Hustlinsmoke: If you give 2 people the same great advice, but one pays for it and one doesnt pay for it, who do you think is going to value it more and take action on it?

    • Life isn't about white and black, there are shades of grey.

Some "gurus" want to charge $10,000 for a mentoring course. The student pays regardless of whether he gets results or not. This isn't what I call a win-win.

    • You are right. Should we stop helping people. I have no idea what all this crap is about giving free advice away is. We always do it and I always will.

Now my perception. I started a free coaching class about two months ago.
      Day 1. 12 people
      Day 2. Assignments handed out
      Day 3. About half replied.
Through the next few weeks when they found out how much work IM really is lost all but 1.

I charge the students stay in till the end since they paid of course but guess what, 90 percent still do not keep following through afterwards.

I like to help as many as possible because the percentages ar so staggering in this buisness.

90 percent or more never make a dollar online that try.
98 percent do not stick with it.
Under 2 percent make a full time income
and I don't think I can write enough zeros and decimal points on how many get rich.

  • I think one of the most effective aspects of having a mentor is accountability.

Once you have a mentor, you (should) have some actions and deadlines in place. This in itself will propel you to take action so you have something done by the time you 'report back'.

On that basis, just someone to be accountable to could help. And this could be a two way thing. You help each other. Free of charge. Perhaps follow someone online, read their books, listen to their audios, watch their videos. Then take action on what you have learned and report back to your 'accountability partner'.

You could find someone on here with similar needs to be your 'accountability partner'.

Is there a specific reason that you feel you need a mentor, or are you just looking for some guidance?

    All the best

    Trevor
  • of course...if i sold high priced coaching i'd say the same.

  • Hmmm Many think they are buying a short cut to success.

"i hand you $5k you hand me a $100k+ business"

    Think it's that easy?
    • [1] reply
    • Indeed.

      It's never easy is it?

There is no magic button when it comes to internet marketing.

I think there is a lot of common sense needed. But most of all you have to work at it.

You can read, listen, watch and get mentored, but unless you take action, what chance do you have?
  • If you are able to do a little research then look for a marketer who presently has no coaching forum. Here's the proposal Would you be interested in getting into coaching? Coach me and I'll give you your first testimonial.

Mark Joyner did something a little similar with Joe Vitale, Joe had only hard copy books back then. Now he make a fortune on the net with digital products. I'm sure his hard copy books have taken a back seat by now.
  • Finding the mentor is an easy task. But finding the real one would be a tough job. It is how you evaluate the skills of mentor.
