Why Freelancing is good for newbies

I see a lot of newbies here or on other sites asking how they can start making money. My first instinct is to suggest promoting an affiliate product or starting a blog with WP but after thinking about it, it's not the best option.

I suggest them Fiver and freelancing. Freelancing involves a lot of different aspects such as content writing, designing, seo and alot of other things. Thinking about it, it will make the newbie work his skills and question himself on which area or aspect he is good in. For me Wordpress was a wonder because I am not good at coding or designing but a lot of newbies do have skills they developed at younger age.

Fiverr sounds a bit ridiculous but it makes you realize how different things you can do to get 5$ and that first 5$ will make you realize it can turn 5,000$ one day. I realized most of us are good with content writing and there are high demands in that in any webmaster forum or gig sites like fiverr.

Anyone agrees?

    Definitely agree.

Fiverr is the way to go for fast and instant cash. Just look at the people that make $200/$300 per day selling ebook/kindle ecovers or any type of graphics. Its rediculous.

Or people that write and sell articles? Funny thing is that some of them provide good articles for just $5

You can offer any type of service there for fast cash, literally anything.

  • I'm a big fan of freelancing. Fiverr is good for some things, I prefer eLance and other 'higher end' sites, but whatever works.

For the newbie, freelancing is a great way to learn the ropes while still making some cash.

Fiverr is not a bad way to start out. If nothing else, it allows a freelancer to hone their skills, and helps them find out if they even like what they're doing.

And, if they fail, it's not quote as bad as going on somewhere like elance, bidding and winning a large project, and then either finding out they're not cut out for the project (and failing) or finding out that the project takes way more work than initially thought and they way underbid.

I did Fiverr for a while, it helped me find what I really liked to do, and showed I could make money doing it.

Freelancing is a great way to make some money. However the biggest downside to it is that there is no constant work. You have to struggle to find good work and not just $5 gigs. However for beginners, it is more than ok

    1. I agree with freelancing as a great option for newbies to start out in the IM world

    2. I wholeheartedly disagree with starting out with Fiverr - why would you want to intentionally limit the amount of money you could make by selling your service?

    I do agree with you
The better part of freelancing is that you can specialize in specific niche, for example, i can specialize in content writing, data entry,Web research,Web design,SEO,customer service and support,Email handling,IM etc
This allows you to choose on what you are good at and you can perfect and become an expert on that field of your choice.
The best freelance sites i would go for are oDesk, freelancer and Elance
