Money making alternatives for writers?

Are there any money making alternative for freelance writers that can get you a decent income?

Maybe my sales copy is bad or I just have bad luck with my audience, or maybe I'm just not a salesman, because I can't seem to make sales. I can build traffic and lists, but no sales so far except 2 paid referals at membership sites. I forgot to mention that I can also get people to sign up for free programs under me at a decent conversion ratio, and amazingly enough 2 upgraded.

Anyway, writing is my real strength, (except maybe sales copy) and also my passion, so writing for money is pretty much my "dream".
Limited supply PLR seems like an idea but is there still a market for PLR content?

Limited quantity PLR does still sell if you want to go that route. You could also start your own niche blogs since that would involve mostly writing. You may not see the payout immediately but it could pay off down the road.

You might want to try finding some e-books that you really like, ones that have helped you a lot. Learn techniques to promote them. Put your writing skills to use.

Or step out of your comfort zone and interview an expert to - one who already has a list. Create an interview from that product that they can promote to that list. Associate yourself with people who do know how to make sales.

Or work on being more present - creating a following that goes to you for information. There's tons of people out there writing about all manner of topics - take wine for example. But Gary Vaynerchuk turned the wine world on its head when he had a persona that really made people stop and think "Hey, this guy is serious."

Another point: It's never that you're bad at selling. Copywriting is just one of those things that requires practice and stepping outside of your comfort zone. Try copying some sales letters from headline all the way to the bottom to feel what the flow is - that will be a great experience.

You could also become a paid blogger. Talk to Angela Edwards here on the WF, she knows her stuff on that.

Almost hate to jump on the "offline bandwagon" but imagine if you provide promotion writing for local business owners?

    1. Connect with ChamberMembers or other business networks.
    2. Get one business media coverage from your writing submit to local papers etc.
    3. Submit Writing online with PR-web of course let the owner pay for your skills and the submitting.
    4. Promote yourself and your service in the process.

Best of luck if you find this helpful drop a line...to Your Online Friend.
