How can I create great looking ebooks?

How can I create great looking ebooks? Which software/programm do I need?
Who knows?

  • Aren`t you the guy asking about how to greate a good looking landing page ? anyhow, for the ebook, the hardest part is to write it.. for the design.. you can spend 5$ to get it done..
  • wirte it on word and convert it to pdf and then have it designed on fiverr, i also saw a service on warriors for hire that writes ebooks for you with a quick turnaround

  • I don't get Fiverr except as a loss leader. Do people actually do great work for $5? Is someone only willing to spend $5 expecting a result that will really build their business?

    • I have actually found good voice over work on there.. most is crap, but what can you expect for $5.

      I wasnt happy with my voice over from a "professional", out of curiosity I hired some one of fiver to do one.. What the hell it was $5 bucks. If it sucked who cares, move on. I was rather impressed, and hired them for several more videos.. one video was 8 minutes.. Still charged only $5 bucks. Though I felt bad and gave a $10 dollar tip..

      But I don't get it. Fiverr takes 25%, so people are doing these gigs for $4. SO I was surprised to find quality.

  • An eBook does not have to look all fancy. As long as your eBook gives away what you are trying to teach, then it is all you need. You do not have to worry about trying to make it look a certain way. All the best.
  • Yes there are good fiverr vendors who deliver excellent results..Look for the most highly rated ones with good reviews

  • yes, odesk has some good designers too that will give you quality work and at a decent price. Just make sure you get a good one that understands what you are going for.

  • Frank..do you just want the Cover designed..or the content..??
    If it's the content..here is what I do...
    I begin to write..short sentences..paragraphs..bullet points..etc
    I then find a Ghostwriter..& let him/her finish it off for me.
    Reason I do it this way is..
    1. they get an understanding of how I want it written..( the tone )
    2. and it gives them a fairly good road map of what you want !

  • I use Photoshop and Cover Action Pro. Not a cheap combination but IMO they enable you to get the best results possible if you know how to use them. Personally I am very fussy with graphics and need top quality. Using these tools you will certainly achieve that.

    Are you referring to a PDF type ebook or the Kindle? If the Kindle, all you need is Microsoft Word.

    If you need a PDF ebook, you can also use Word and then load a cool looking PDF design.
