Software to set up websites for local businesses

I saw a while back some software that makes it easy to set up websites for local businesses.

You could use a template and just copy and paste, just changing the header. It might have had some training with it to- I saw it as a product launch- but that's not necessary.

Can anyone recommend a product that can do this? I'd like to set up websites for local businesses, charging them for the setup and monthly maintenance (which would include SEO).

Thanks.

Why not use WordPress? It's scalable (in terms of feature additions to the websites).

I would go with WordPress as well.

There are themes you can use for local businesses that would be easy to use.

  • I agree. Use wordpress than get themes from places like inkthemes.com or Expand2Web.com which gives you a great theme that allows you to really customize the website for your clients without the need to hire someone to adjust themes you find elsewhere.

Be sure to offer SEO as well. Because what's the purpose of having a website that no one can find. So it's a nice upsell once they're happy with their new website!

Wordpress is good; easy, SEO friendly and great themes are available. Only issue, it is too much vulnerable to the security attacks. As the code is opensource, security holes are also open and hackers soon identify the holes. Most attacks come through .htaccess, session and file permission holes. Normally shared servers are prone to attacks and in several cases I had to change the servers.

So when you choose wordpress, please do not forget to upgrade it from time to time as a proactive safety measure.

    Many thanks.

There are a lot of great WordPress Business templates for niche-specific businesses, so you'd be able to set up nice websites that don't all look the same.

Not sure what program you are looking for, otherwise.
