Start with affiliate website before real business?

I'm very interested to start my own business, and I know that my competitors use online marketing to generate leads and reach out to potential clients.

But just because they can do it, doesn't mean that I can. So i thought that I should start an affiliate website, and if I can drive enough traffic and make some sales. Then I would start my own business and offer those services by myself.

Does this sound like a good plan?

That does seem like the logical choice, but unfortunately, affiliate marketing is much harder than everyone makes it seem...

Regardless what route you decide to take, there's going to be a large amount of trial and error, its part of most any learning processes... My advice would be to not worry about trying affiliate marketing 1st, I think you'd be much better off to start working on your own business right from the start...

      Thanks for the reply.

I will use my own brand and I will offer the exact services ( if I decide to run my own business), so I don't need to start my own brand later.

The thing is that if I want to start on my own business in the beginning, I must be available on the phone to sell and help clients. But I have a full time job, and I want to be sure that I can actually get enough clients to support myself before I quit my job.

I think that for many/most people, affiliate marketing is actually a more real, and probably more successful business than selling your own product(s). Here are just 10 of my reasons for thinking that.
I understand, what I mean is that I want to create my own brand, and that is important in my niche.

Affiliate marketing websites ARE REAL BUSINESSES. Actually, as someone who does both, I can say that affiliate marketing is easier than product creation. They're both powerful business models and eventually, if you succeed, you might end up doing both. Start with affiliate marketing UNLESS you have a great idea, plus the tools necessary to create an awesome product.

There are plenty of business websites that cross-market. They have a site built-around their product or service AND they have adsense ads and affiliate product ads all throughout the site.

You can do both AT THE SAME TIME.

A crappy product or service by people that disappear from the forum for a long period of time to make it look like they were working on something so when they come back you will want to click on their crappy product or service link

I wouldn`t try to start a business by bringing customers to competitors first.. If you have faith in the project, invest few $$ on domain and hosting and try it.

Other warriors are right, it's a real business.

Now get a paper and write down a detail plan, write down the steps and complete.

If there's no detail plan you might run into many failure.

And stay positive my friend, they can do it, I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

    Take action!!

Before you get started with your own product, it is always better to get started with affiliate products first. It will make your experienced about marketing your products. If you grow up yourself as a good affiliate marketer, you will be able to market your products easily.

If by affiliate marketing you mean selling, for example, Amazon products, then it's a great idea, but if it's a Clickbank product you have in mind, I suggest creating your own, simply because you will know it better and it will be easier to sell.

Just like Alexa said, affiliate marketing is real business, so don't take it lightly.

I agree with VinnyBock. Build your own business. Not someone elses.

Brand yourself, build your own list, you will have to sooner or later anyhow, may as well start NOW.... Good Luck
