From my understanding, most users seem to use Windows instead of Linux/Mac so eBooks in exe format will be usable by most however, those who use Linux/Mac won't be able to read the eBook as their OS can't open exe's (at least not without some sort of software that the average Joe won't know how to use) therefore PDFs seem to be a better option as they can be read by any OS.

The problem with PDF is that it seems more insecure to me in terms of people ripping the contents of it...I know they have those padlocked PDFs but still think those exe eBooks are more secure or do they have vulnerabilties as well?

I send everything out in PDF format. If someone wants to rip you off, they are going to do it regardless of what you try to do to stop them.

PDF's are universal. Many people don't like opening the exe's, but opening a PDF is not usually something people are uncomfortable with.

As was stated...your stuff will be stolen...just live with it...

As a customer, I hate exe file ebooks...I only buy pdfs and for that reason that is the only ones I sell...I am 99% sure that my stuff gets stolen to some degree...but making your customers mad over the few who will steal no matter what you do is not, in my opinon, good buisness....
