Whats a good open rate for email marketing?

I was just wondering what a good open or average open rate would be for email marketing.

Had an open rate of 20% my first couple but averaging around 10% now how do those numbers sound.

I email my list pretty often.

Thanks,

Preston

Those both sound like decent open rates. Depending on the quality of the list, anything above 5% is pretty reasonable.

Work on creating better subject lines to increase your open rates.

Remember, the subject line is to get them to open the email.

The copy in the email is to get them to click the link.

The link leads to the landing or sales page that is to get them to take the next step.

It's all a process, but if they don't open the email first the process is useless.

    Hope that helps.

You might want to search what is the best subject line for my emails.
That is your open rate right there.
No one can tell you what a good open rate is cause each mail is different in Im.
Unless you have say a blog and everyone is there for one reason and your not trying to sell them.
I used to get by with, free beer tomorrow and maybe today and get 50 percent open. Now Im lucky to say free sex and get 20 percent open rate.

Now once you have your subject lines down, then you can find out what kind of email makes a great click rate.
