When Was The Last Time You Did This?
Fast forward to yesterday and it dawned on me that my desktop was almost as bad as it was before! I wondered how in the world that could have happened and then I realized that I was getting way too much email (again)!
I'd managed to sign up for several freebies, bought even more WSO's, pulled stuff back onto my desktop that I'd removed before because I thought it would be relevant to this "new" thing I was gonna do, etc.
This madness has to stop!
This time I'm not only organizing my desktop and removing everything that isn't absolutely necessary in my day-to-day work, I'm also unsubscribing from multiple lists and rerouting those that aren't absolutely necessary to another email address. I can check that once per week. I want to keep my primary email inbox as clutter free as possible.
Also, when was the last time you cleaned up your saved files in your inbox? I'm a freaking email hoarder! I've got dozens of files from A-Z from most major marketers and on most major topics. Those get organized next and many long time relationships will be ended.
Although I am a multi-tasker and can do more than one thing at a time, it's not smart. I need to be focused on ONE thing at a time. Having multiple files full of "opportunities" on my desktop and "bright shiny objects" hitting my inbox several times a day is HURTING me, not HELPING me!
If you haven't done this recently I highly recommend it. It feels liberating. All of that clutter is stunting your growth. I've been around long enough to know better, yet I still allowed it to sneak up on me (again).
Anyway, I hope this little reminder will help others to get back on track too.
Oh, (Note to self) and stop buying so many WSO's!!!
