The youtube description coverup and what to do about it?

So don' t know if this has been broached before but I expect you have seen that after a You-tube vid finishes now the description with your all important affiliate link gets covered over with a embed link box.

I know you can get back to the description by clicking on the About link but feel that a lot of people will not know this or not do it.

So what to do, have a clickable link in the vid throughout? Do a call to action bit at the end and say oh and by the way, if the description gets covered click on about so you can click on my link? Also I expect a lot of people watch vids to the end like I do only to have the description obliterated before they can find the link

Annoying. What are you guys and girls doing about it?. Have those of you who have left your vids as they are and noticed a reduction in sales or website visits.

Would be interested in some feedback.

Cheers

Mark

I really wouldn't be worried about it. I don't think it's much of a problem at all. My links are getting clicks.

If you refer to the link in the description, they're going to know they just have to hit the about tab. The embed link isn't likely to stop anyone from doing that.

Yeah what can you do other than tell people its there, add an annotation, and hope for the best... unless you have an inside man at YouTube's development team? In which case, make them change it.
