Problem with google analytics

Hello

I've signed up yesterday on google analytics, I've added my domain which contain nothing, and then I wanted to add my squeeze page, I created a new property or a new folder and I've put the link of my squeeze page, they gave me the html code to put it on my squeeze page before the </head> and I did and saved the changes, then I was confused about where can I see the statistics of each page, so I removed the first folder which contain just my domain I left the second one which contain my squeeze page " www.mydomain.com/squeezepage " it looks like that.

After that I took the HTML code once again and I've add it to the squeeze page and saved everything and when I go to check if the code is installed I always find this:" Tracking Not Installed ".

This is the first time I'm using google analytics that's why I think I'm having these problems, I hope somone here help me, where is the problem?

  • here is what's written under the tracking code is not installed: The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website.

    but I don't have a home page! all what I have is an empty domain and a squeeze page with that domain www.mydomain.com/squeezepage

    when I enter to my domain without adding the /squeezepage all the files that I'm uploading to my server appears!! how can I stop that? if somebody enters it he will see all my other squeeze pages and all my files?!! I noticed that just now!! help me guys.

  • JennySweets: I sliped the html code to the squeeze page html code, still not working, that's my problem.

  • I just joined google analytics last week. mine said the same "tracking not installed,but a day or 2 later it was ok and showing everything, so maybe it take a few days to start getting information
  • Really? well, I have nothing else to do except waiting, I don't even promote my squeeze page until it works so I feel like I'm wasting time , I'm still waiting your thoughts guys.

    • Honestly I'm a hands on kinda person - I have to be able to see and touch an issue to help fix it. Since I can't see inside your setup I can't really help you since you said the code is in there.

      Plus I had to go to the doc today so I went poof on ya - sorry about that. At least in our line of work we don't get docked pay for such things!

  • Jennysweets: Thanks for your thoughts much appreciated, as well as everybody who is trying to help. I think I will wait a bit more to see if it will work after a day or two!
  • You could just rename the page "index.html"... then that would be the only page that someone would see when they came to your site. If it's not ready (which sounds so) then just put a "website under construction" type of description in the middle of the page. You can save a blank page as "index.html" if you'd like.

    • Also... Make sure you hit the enter key after pasting in code... and make sure nothing else is on the line with it!

  • Guys, I refrshed the page and here is what appeared

    Status: Receiving Data

    what does that mean?

    one visitor, does it mean now that it's working and everything is fine, even though it never appeard on the statut that the Tracking code is installed, all what appeared is Receiving data, please someone answer me here, thank you all.
  • Instead of hanging around hoping someone is going to reply why not Google your problem?

    • I did, now the statut is receiving data, is that's it? the report show me that I had one visitor, is it working now?
