My First Squeeze -- What Do You Think?

Hey,
I just made my first real squeeze page.

It has a youtube video on it.

Could you guys take a look and tell me what you think?

Thanks,

    Mixed-messages, Sebastian, mixed messages...

In all honesty I can't tell if it's a poor squeeze page or a poor spoof
of a squeeze page. If it's either of those, both don't work.

I can see what you're trying to do (I think) - but it's self-defeating (imho)...
...you put me off watching the video because of the headline and the
    static vid screen.

Sometimes being different and using reverse psychology tricks can be great,
sometimes they can just be counter-productive.

By the way - if it is a serious request for feedback, don't go too much on the
advice in this thread: set up a 2nd, different version and split test them on
    your target visitors
. They're the ones whose opinions really count.

    Best,
    Adam

    Hi
Give people something of value. You got nothing - and you DO say it - of value!
"You came with nothing and you leave with nothing" (Monty Python).
To be honest I don´t think people will give you name and email for NOTHING - unless they have nothing else to do on this planet
    "Advanced Warrior"......Are you serious ?.... I don´t think so

The layout is nice and clean but the Head and the video are bloody boring. You would have more interest if we see you talking to us. I clicked off after your "I don't have a bribe". Check my squeezepage. This one works like a beauty - Killer Sales Video- Top Quality Custom Marketing Video, Promotional Video, Video Trailers, Video Tours, Video Testimonials

I'm new to the forum. I think I messed up my first reply. So I'll try again...

Your video catches and draws the readers attention. Most times a compelling video can be more enticing than an attention grabbing headline.

    Hi Sebastian...

    Here's the deal.

This whole irony thing hinges on
you persuading the visitor to watch
    the video.

But right now, I don't see that happening.

People are busy. You need to instantly
show them why staying on your site
is valuable to them personally. You've
got just a handful of seconds to do
that once they land, or they're going
    to hit the back button.

I can't comment on what's on the vid,
because I honestly didn't watch it.

The reason that squeeze pages and IM
pages in general have such similar looks
and feels is because people are sticking
    to what works, naturally.

And what works is giving people reasons
to stay on your page, to click your links,
    to buy your products etc.

At the moment, this page is focused only
on you, not the visitor, so I don't think
it's going to do so well.

I can see where you're going with it, but
    as a squeeze page I just don't think it's
    going to cut it.

    Sorry.

Precisely. I looked at the squeeze page, but couldn't see any reason to watch the video other than "you told me to".

      So I didn't.

Give me a REALLY, REALLY good reason for spending the next 4 minutes, 47 seconds of my life watching your video.

(I'm speaking here as a potential customer, not a Warrior reviewer )

Use your headline and sub-heading to do that.

I am not a copywriter but you should offer your best benefits as headlines
rather than "This Is The GateWay To My Blog. Watch The Video."

for example if you offer free traffic tips, put a screen shot proof there and write something like "Discover How To Get 10,000 Unique Page Views Per Day To Your Blogs or Websites in Less Than 30 days!" and attach the screen shot below the headline.

I can tell you if you can do it many people many people will sign up...

Your video catches and draws the readers attention.
Catching attention is one thing - keeping it for more than an instant is
    another entirely.

Most times a compelling video can be more enticing than an attention grabbing headline.
    Based on?...

You need a context to go with that statement (and stats). It's way too general.
Besides which, a combination of particular words entices you to watch a video in
    the first place.

Bull. If there's a video staring at the reader he or she will click on it. That's why the latest squeezes are using them AND minimal copy. And why are you monstering the guy anyway? He's new here. He doesn't need you jumping down his throat with your "context and stats" twaddle. But to back up why we're using video squeeze, here's some stats for you. Wikipedia says there are - "15 million functionally illiterate adults" in the U.S. - as in people who can't read and write....."All over the U.S.A. 30 million (14% of adults) are unable to perform simple and everyday literacy activities" - like filling in their welfare forms.....and reading advertising copy.

Have a "noice" day, you hear.

How do you hold that cig in your mouth so long with it splattering out so much poorly thought out crap?...

correctomundo: AND minimal copy. Re-read the statement you're referring to (if you can).
I said nothing about NOT using video.

Well you definitely activate the 'curiosity' button. But I think you still need to give some hint on what exactly the video or blog is about.

It could be about absolutely anything, even non-IM. Give the visitor a clue and then let them go after it.
