In This Post I Tell You How To Make $100 or More Per Day

It just breaks my heart to see so many of my fellow Warriors posting that they need a few extra dollars within the next 24 hours or they'll lose their car, house or girlfriend, etc.

And what bothers me even more is that we have other Warriors telling them that it can't be done in such a short time - Responses like "Sell a kidney" or "Collect cans for recycling" come to mind... C'mon guys, this is the Warrior Forum and responses like that do not help and is the biggest pile of BS imaginable because...

You damned sure can make the money you need in 24 hours or less. I know because I and a lot of other warriors have done it and are doing it every day and I swear, I'm going to tell you exactly how by the end of this post. But, let's be realistic -

You ain't going to do it by buying into a bunch of online hype about some guy making millions while sitting on the beach with the warm sand seeping into his butt crack. No, you just have to be willing to use some every day common sense and set yourself up properly to succeed. Fortunately, you're in exactly the right place for that.

What we are going to do is learn to market our skills to local businesses. Give them what they really need and they are glad to give you what you need. In this case money.

Do this Now...

Put down all of the complicated traffic driving eBooks and marketing programs for a while. You can pick them back up later after you learn to survive -

Begin to study basic web site building with WordPress. This is not difficult and you should be able to learn all you will need in less than 1 day. A very simple site can be sold to local businesses in your area for $250 to $300. (I have sold many of these sites and, in some cases, in less than 1 hour)

Learn to properly set up a "Google Places Page" - also not difficult and highly profitable once learned. Setting up such a page can go from $100 to $250 depending on how much content the customer wants added. By the way, it is quite easy to convince a business owner that he needs this by googling his business on your cell phone and showing him how bad his placement sucks and how you can improve it.

With just these two tools in your belt, I promise that you will never again be at a loss about how to generate a few hundred dollars whenever you need it.

Another really neat thing about this setup is that you will need none of your own money to start. Want to add web site hosting to your offer? Just add $30 per month to your setup fee and get a "Hosting Account" with Hostgator. Not quite sure you can quickly set up a Places Page? Use some of the money you make to invest in one of the many fine courses on the Warrior Forum and learn as you earn.

Online marketing is great guys but starving ain't. So, until you are generating those "easy millions" we've all read about, give yourself a fighting chance and learn to do the small stuff that puts food on the table.

Mike

Cool advice here. thanks for the post.

But it won't be easy like this. It depends on local business owners need and my ability to make the owner convinced.

Actually it is just that easy...

I should have mentioned that you will be better served to do just a little homework before you hit the bricks. Find a list of businesses in your area, let's say restaurants. Just use your phone book. Then google the businesses on your cell phone and check out their "Places Page" in most cases it will be incomplete or unclaimed or they will not be in the top 3 or 4. This will also let you know if they have a web site (there will be a link to it). When you visit the business just show them their page and let them know that you are offering this service. You might also let them know that most people now use their cell phones to find places to eat.

Yes, I'm not sure the ones begging for how to make a few dollars before midnight are from developped countries, so for them it's going to be another story to get $200 for local business owners :-)

But otherwise, yes it is a good advise to try to find real life customers instead of IM.. Service people in IT are always needed. So if you're desperate enough (or enjoy talking) yes doing standard commerce in your local area is a good thing because the word of mouth will help you faster than online only.

  • Mike, Man I totally agree with you about the "helpful" responses of some warriors when folks are looking for real advice instead of sarcasm or "go search the forum" nonsense. It definitely doesn't add any value to people that are struggling and looking for guidance. It's like some warriors forgot what it was like coming up.

I think going the offline route can lead to some serious cash, But I don't know how fast and easy that would be for a newbie. Although you can easily learn a lot about wordpress within a day or so. It doesn't mean you'll feel confident enough to approach a business to offer the service. Building the wordpress website may be the easy part, selling it to a business is a whole other ball game. If you're not confident, a business owner can sense that. Then what happens if they ask if you have a portfolio or references. Usually that type of stuff takes some time to build.

So I don't know if it's easy or fast money for a newbie especially since a big part of it requires some sales skills. But I love the fact that you're trying to give newbies a real response and options to try rather than the sarcasm and dismissive nonsense I see being spewed by some warriors. So I applaud you! We need more warriors with the same type of mindset helping each other out like that!

      Hey Eddy,

Thanks bud. The point I'm really trying to make here is to begin to learn the ins and outs of offline business marketing. Simple web site design, setting up a "Google Places Page", Mobile site design, etc. This will at least give people the tools they need to stay solvent while learning the more intricate pieces of Internet Marketing.

Without being able to quickly raise funds when desperately needed, most folks just give up on IM altogether and go get a job at "What-a-burger".

  • Great advice for those who need some extra quick cash to help get them through, though setting up WP sites to sell to local businesses might be a bit involved for some.

I didn't know it was possible to get over $100 for a Google Places page. If I knew someone who needed money quick and was into IM, I'd probably suggest that now.

This is great actionable advice which is what this forum needs more of. I've never done this but have thought of doing this a few times because I do work from home and at times I have alot of time in my hands that can be spent putting together websites for customers.

Hey Mike is there a specific theme that you would say is best for this or that you have used successfully and that makes the job easier because it is compatible to many businesses needs ?

    Thanks,

      Hey Gengis,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but, I was kinda whupped last night and needed some sleep.

If I read your question right, you are asking about WordPress themes. While any will do (once you get the hang of putting them together) I am fond of any of the magazine themes.

Also, some of the Warriors have excellent themes to offer here on the forum that are very easy to adapt to your client's needs.

      Hope that helps

Well, I'm not big into spending time on small things like $200-$500 websites because I don't market myself as that. I'd rather do 2 big jobs per month, than 50 small ones!

So, one (of many) tactics that I do are as follows:

**Side-note: This is an email I received from a client a few hours ago from this tactic-

        "JOsh,

Sorry for the delay, it's been one hell of a long last 2 weeks. My partner and I have decided officially to go with you for the web site development and marketing help as we move forward.

        -Sean "

This was for a $3,880 wordpress website proposal. (It will take me roughly 2 weeks to complete.)

Anywho, one way (among many) to reel in these jobs is through Elance.

Now, I know everyone looks down on Elance, but I heard about it 2 month ago, and my first day I got a job paying me $30/hour to write a marketing plan. Since then, I have pulled over $6,500 in jobs strictly from Elance. (I haven't even prospected in the last 4 weeks because I booked 1.5 months of work in the first few weeks...

I also have a call tomorrow with someone wanting me to build another Wordpress website for $4,040.

The key to it is knowing your value.

A LOT of people undervalue themselves because they are new to the web design world. I officially began designing websites and marketing for multi-million dollar companies 4 months ago. (Meaning, I don't know shit compared to most web designers. lol.)

Anybody can learn Wordpress basics inside and out in a matter of a few weeks. (Notice I said inside and out. To know what looks good, where the best themes are, basic PHP, etc., it takes a little more than 24 hours. )

All-in-all, most of it comes down to consistency, personality, social skills, and understanding how to do proposals right. This can take some time, so that's why I often do business coaching for beginning web designers, small businesses, etc., to help them learn from my mistakes.

Hope this sheds a little insight to somebodies new career as a web designer!

Anyone can PM me if they want a little more coaching in this area.

I knew you were a web developer. Only developers charge that much. I would charge the same amount if i developed for other people. I write code myself though, i don't know how to use CMS systems yet. I have allot more fun writing website for myself though, i feel allot more creative that way. I can argue with myself on this though since i have never developed for anyone else.

Also how about offering to build Twitter followings and FB pages for local businesses? Then there's Pinterest, Foursquare etc etc.

Most offline businesses have never heard of content marketing, so there's a nice retainer opportunity there in weekly blog posts.

And if they've already got a website, I expect it looks like a dog on mobiles. So let them know that mobile internet growth is xx% per year and build them a mobile site - it might be more difficult but at least the content and design will be done for you and in the customer's eyes it might be more valuable and thus pay better.

Gain a client's trust and who knows what value you can add to their business - and your bank account.

I immediately took to Google Places and checked out the local pizzerias in my area. All I can say is WOW. Their websites look like they were built in 1985 and most didn't even have a web site.

Most of the Google Places info was filled out, though, which I found interesting. A lot had no picture, though. Just the map position.

The problem with this is that many of the people who post those kinds of posts haven't learned a thing, have nothing set up and don't have any skills to market. Occasionally, like the one a couple of days ago, they do have the skills and easily came up with the money and didn't really even need to post such a thread, but many others I've seen have absolutely nothing to offer. They haven't put any real time or effort into *learning* anything and it's as if they hope that an easy income can be accomplished without learning anything.

Can't really do anything about the people who make those posts and refuse to learn. My focus here was more about the people who don't make such posts but are still very interested in paying the rent. I just wanted to let them know that there is no need to starve while learning.

How do you find local businesses and how do you contact them? Lol.
      Hey Tim,

Finding the businesses is easy - Use your phone book -

Now we do some homework - Google their business to check to see if they have their Places Page set up. If yes, check to see what position they hold (anything below 5th is golden for us) then you can offer to improve their page rating. If they do not have one set up, show them what their competition is doing and offer to set theirs up.

Do Not Cold Call! Contact the business owner personally so they know that they are dealing with a real person.

      Hope this helps

Great post, overall, Mike. Although I'm curious how this (above) is not "cold calling"? Contacting business owners (without a personal referral or prior connection to them) is generally considered cold calling by most people... I seem to be missing the distinction you're trying to make.

Great info MIke, that's what the Warrior Forum needs is more folk like yourself that offer practical ways for newbies to earning online.

The great thing is that these two ideas are not all that hard..as said, research and learning the skills needed, no excuse really..

There have been several Warriors with WSOs offering similar services to offline businesses..

pretty good advice, where there is a will there is a way.

There are also things you can do on the back end to increase your initial profits by 300 ROI, and even add a recurring element to this as well. I suggest you look at the offline forum as well. Lots of interesting ideas there.

This is good! I can build the sites. In your post you said add another 30 a month for hosting. I don' want to host them on my account. We're you thinking of free Wordpress sites? I also don't want to maintain the sites but what I was thinking was a reseller package and making money from hosting their sites and also for 500 setting them up with a few page site monthly hosting at 10 a month and a little instruction on how to run the site themselves and throw in a google places page for free!

Great post and one that many warriors will benefit from. There is now no reason for someone not to be able to make money using this method.

        Hi Mike,

Great post and has got me thinking.

You state "Learn to properly set up a "Google Places Page" but how would you set up multiple accounts?
I thought you could only use your own Google account for this?

You use the client's account. They will have to claim their page by contacting Google and then supply you with the code to edit the page. Actually this is great for you because you begin to work closely with the client and that can lead to more services a little further down the road.

You've changed from "$100 or More Per Day" to "the money you need in 24 hours or less"

              But, let's be realistic -
              OK

I'm not new to the game - and even if I do a "quick" WP install, it is not a one day venture to set up a personalized client site. Maybe I'm a bit more picky but I'm not into just slapping up any old thing.

And I'll be honest here. I most certainly didn't learn WP in a day! Learned enough to maybe get my own crappy first site up, but not something I'd try pawning off to a valued customer.

Not saying you can't sell in a day, but if you're not personally technically inclined, I'd suggest outsourcing the job - which in itself can take more than a day to complete if you're not familiar with what you're doing.

I think you've over simplified the process.

But again, maybe I'm a bit too picky and want to feel like I'm giving my clients more than a quick slap together site.

Great post here, I think this should be a sticky just for the general help of the community that are in bad situations.

I would also add, learn how to provide a service whether it be fix a computer, clean up viruses, install computers (older people have no idea how to setup a computer), learn internet marketing and website design.

Then post a few ads on craigslist and you can easily make $200 a day if you contact people.

Great tips! There is no doubt that this tricks will work but I think it will take some time to happen as it depends upon the business needs and whether the client is convinced or not.
I have no idea, just how easily it will work for any novice, in spite of the fact that it is possible to study lots about wordpress in a day.
I think it depends upon how confidently you have presented your offer to the client. Developing the actual wordpress internet site could be the easy portion, marketing the idea to a business is entirely a different game.
