What is your definition of a landing page? Is it the sales page you directly send people to? Or a page that shows up after an opt-in?

I've seen some great pages put together by LeadPages. As soon as I have $200 to invest, that's where my money is going!

I think you did not get the question there. He was asking you, that which page do you consider as landing page. Is it the sales page? or is it the page after opt-in form. Different people have got different strategies.

I think of a landing page as one that pre-sales to the customer before they get to the merchant page -- like a product review. In this case, I would say that you should first use sub-headings and split things into smaller paragraphs in order to keep the visitor's attention.

I would also say that you should use the first part of the page to connect with your audience in order to build trust. In the latter sections, you should talk about the product. Also, don't make it sound too "salesy" -- do it like you are presenting information.

    Good luck,
    Joey

The 2 that I use are Salespress Pro and Authority Pro. SPP is a Wordpress theme and AP is a Wordpress plugin. They both do enough for me and I don't really use much of anything else.

Of course there is also Optimize Press which is a great tool I just don't use it much!

1st - Attractive Design, which holds people to check out what you are offering.

2nd - Attractive contextual content, which make your audience to read.

3rd - Place Call to action very carefully, no one line visitors read pages word by word, there is a pattern of reading especially for online readers and that "z". This way how they scan a web page. So keep this point of mind while you design your call to action.

4th - It should be easily navigation.

As amateur, you should first clear out objective of your landing page so you can concoct clear call to action particularly attached to else on your landing page. It ought to be straightforward with the intention that every sentence and word on your landing page might as well serve a reason, and that reason ought to be to back your call to action. An exceptional configuration upholds the call to action, while a terrible outline diminishes it. Determine that your call to action is placed at the top of the page, where somebody can click it without needing to parchment. Assuming that you would prefer not to need to utilize a web designer for your landing page, there are alternatives for making incredible landing page without any specialized knowledge.

There are many options here my friend, as people have mentioned - Optimizepress 2.0. Does so much more than just landing pages, if you are just wanting landing pages, I can guarantee at some point you will then go on and create sales pages (one page site which sells and eBook) or even a membership site (with video content etc).

If you think you will be doing these things in the future, the OP 2.0 is the way to go, there is a full video review here: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...uncovered.html

Best of all, it can be used as a plugin, so can be used with WP and any other theme.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Some of the points that you should keep in mind while making landing pages are:
    1) Make sure that main title of your landing page suits the ad audience clicked to get there.
    2) Make your call to action specified and place it on top of the fold.
    3) Similarity: each element of your page ought to be arranged theoretically with the subject and objective of the page.
    4) Use video. It has been proven to enhance conversion rate up to 80%.
    5) Show public evidence using indicators of your social status.
    6) Test new concepts using A/B testing. Let your clients decide which concept works best for them.
    7) Use bullet to simplify your copy.
    8) Lastly, do not drive inbound traffic to homepage. Use landing page
