How to find your passion and bring up a valuable idea if you are stupid? :)

Hi there!

My name is Adik. I was working on full-time office job untill last week and I retired. I got bored and unmotivated at all, I didn't feel value of what I was doing for few years so far. I hate the idea of getting back to office work, ever.
During that time I tried to build IM business (I had rather succesfull affiliate website before Panda killed it).
Month ago I started one new website, it is rather beautiful, I got idea of making it profitable, but things aren't getting well - I have problems with freelancers all the time, and... And I am getting bored again. I do not see any (extra)value which my content project will bring to the people. I mean - I feel like I cheat search engines, manipulate it, force people to subscribe my news for useless books and sell them stuff like that. I understand that with such my attitude to business I will never be successful.
The only way I see is to find anything that will be interesting for me and will make other people really happy, wil make their life better and bring value (real value) to them.
I am ready to work all nights long, invest all money I got (not that much ~$3k, but still) to make something (product, service) that will be "cool", be demanded on the market and make me rich
I am thinking about it for more than a year already, but I'm stuck - my thougths are limited to usual things, I can't think out of the box (I feel myself totally stupid at these moments), I am not expert in anything and time is running out.

If anyone was in similar situation before - I will be thankful for any advice - how should I stop to procrastinate, how to get any working ideas to start with? What do You do when You are looking for inspiration? Or maybe should I just stop bi..ing around and try to make usual website, rank it etc. and point all my efforts on it?

Pain? I wouldn't say there was any. I am a person who is always interested in lot of different things and I hate doing something one for a long time. That's why I know a little about everything and I know nothing deep enough at the same time, that is my main problem I would say. And I am perfectionist somehow, I often can't do things if not prepered enough, if not sure 100% it will work.

        You've got yourself a problem.

        First of all...

Your attention is in the wrong place - IF you're going to become a successful product creator.

Who cares if you get bored? Answer? Nobody.

How badly do you want to create an impact in people's lives?

How important is it for you to be of help... of service?

I've never met anyone that didn't have at least one amazing idea for a product.

You're just looking at things with tunnel vision. (You're blinkered!)

How can you leverage your past experiences in a way that helps people who need it?

Start writing down what you're passionate about.

Write down your biggest pains and frustrations.

I promise you that there are a lot of people who share your state of mind.

        Now the BIG question is:

How can you take those past experiences and create a solution that solves the problem?

        That being said...

You'll never get to the answer - IF you're focusing on entertaining yourself.

        As I always say:

Brace yourself... this isn't about you!

Think about your hobbies and things that you're interested in. Then think about some of the obstacles and problems you face in your hobbies and interests.

For example, if you're into football you can create a product that addresses the issue of developing quickness and speed to improve performance on the football field.

I could give you more examples but it really comes down to your hobbies and what interest you. What is that one thing that no matter what happens you always go back to. What eases your mind and allows you relax and enjoy yourself. For some people it's sports, for some it's music and etc.....

You also, have to make sure whatever you choose is profitable. Check to see if there is a market for your niche and then jump right in. Start blogging, developing your product, networking, and marketing.

  • Your problem is low self esteem. The title of your thread, and everything else that you mentioned leads me to draw that conclusion. You need to work on that first, otherwise you will be shooting yourself in your own foot every step of the way towards trying to build a business.

Take some of Marks advice, read some of his posts, and be sure to hang out here: Mind Warriors - Success, Power, Self-Improvement

and also look online for tests that you can take in order to find your interests, passions etc.

Throw yourself into list building in every way possible and don't look up until you have 5000 subscribers.

Give that list more than you take from them.

Only buy products that is going to help grow that list.

If you are not an expert on anything, don't try to create your own product. There many experts who have created decent products that really help people.

Look for these experts, and promote their products. You will make more money with commissions than the product creators.
