How to drive traffic on my blog?

Hi people. Recently (10 days ago), I started building my first blog. I really like designing stuff, so I pick a WordPress, instal new Twenty Thirteen theme and do a nice design. I have no problems about designing, and I never had one. I have problems with driving traffic to my blog. I know it is still early to talk about bigger traffic because I start working on my blog 10 days ago, but I'm receiving only about 15-30 visitors a day. In the next two months I would like to have arround 500-1000 visitors to my website in one day. Is that possible? I know everything depends how much I work but still I don't know how to do that.

I start promoting my blog on Twitter (I have about 2000 twitter followers), but I'm getting low traffic. Two days ago I start using Facebook also, but since I only receive few likes, I guess I can't expect some big traffic from this network. I'm trying to expand my social profiles using JustRetweet and EmpireAvenue. I found them very useful.
I'm writting my own articles (I guess that is better for SEO), I'm using best wordpress plugins (for SEO and other), so should I expect some organic traffic from Search Engines soon?
From Social Bookmarking sites I use Reddit and Digg, I also start Forum Marketing (Warrior Forum, SitePoint, Wicked Fire, and Digital Point from today). I bookmark few best blogs in my niche and start doing blog commenting on them.

That is well everything I'm doing to get traffic
What should I expect? What should I start using that I didn't? Why? How to use it? If anyone have some good tips, I would appreciate help.

Ironically, as I was reading your post, I also had a separate browser window up with THIS article:

The 7 Deadly Sins of Blogging | Copyblogger

(I'm not saying you are committing any of those sins, but, they are something to be cautious of nonetheless....besides, 10 days in? I wouldn't say you are doing too badly....)

You should be building your list right away.

Do what I have dubbed a: 'content loop:'

      1. Capture emails and start listbuilding through adswaps, etc.

      2. Add content... DAILY.

      3. Email your subscribers with a link to your post.

      4. Do social media duties: sharing content, and adding followers.

      5. Repeat the content loop.

If you have any more detailed questions, please send me a PM and I can give you more details.

Hey mate, just joined up today and was drawn to your post. I ran into this same problem when I started my blog (which I've since abandoned) and I remember a few that were helpful then. Pinterest(or any social media with visuals), Youtube (create a video to help spread the word) and Join up on lots of message boards or Help sites(like Yahoo! Answers or Answers.com) and post when you see you can help.

    Hope this helps.

I'm assuming you want people to come to your blog for reasons other than vanity. ;-)

So you have something to sell? Do you know your numbers? What percent of visitors buy? What is their lifetime value, etc.

If you know that, you can profitably buy traffic to your blog. Solo ads, PPC, FB display ads, POF... there are tons of sources.

    /Clark

PS. There is no such thing as free traffic. It's all either paid for with money or time.

It's quite modest. Keyword targeting is the key. What kind of articles are you writing?

People like videos, if you have a you tube video embed it on your blog and get your SEO ranking and key word density up there to build organic traffic. Put a web form on your blog so people can opt in to your list for updates on new blogs, free gifts, resources, etc...

It’s just two days you’ve started off and look at your dedication! Too good!
Although I would say you are doing great and need to continue with this for sometime to see results, you can try with the following:

    • Blog commenting on niche related blogs
    • Guest blogging on high traffic blogs
    • Make your blog interactive (encourage people to comment on the blog and allow guest posting)
    • Integrate videos on the blog and promoting those videos on different video distribution sites
    • You can also consider PPC if you are not on tight budget..

You have lot of work to with your blog. First off all you have to continue posting interesting articles on your blog around your niche, so that people come back to read your articles again and again. This is also important in order to gain new readers as well.

Next you should concentrate improving your existing social media reach. That will again help you to get traffic.

Also you need to concentrate on SEO and link building part as well, so that your blog gets traffic from search engines like Google and others.

Additionally blog comment, forum post, yahoo answers can also provide decent traffic to your website.

You should visit Problogger and read their tips. Leave comments at this blog because they get a lot of traffic.

You should also become a member of Triberr – it’s a bloggers’ community. I'm getting many new RSS feed readers since I became a member.

Focus more on social media, post links, share your content on it. Invite people to your blog, join it. Also post in groups in Social media platforms. Post signatures in forums. Give replies in your relevant category in Yahoo & Google Groups. You will definitely see increase in traffic.
