Getting FREE publicity..

Hi all! There are SOOOOOO many services out there that claim that they can get you free publicity on Radio, Television, Magazines/Journals, etc.! How many here have actually gotten Free publicity from press releases, Services that sent your information to Radio and TV stations, etc.! What are the best services for getting these types of free exposure? And are there people here that are looking for Guests on their shows or looking to write articles/blogs on Individuals who are Authors, Counselors, metaphysicians, Spiritual advisors. etc.?

      It's actually not that hard when you're using HARO - reporters and DJs are always looking for new and interesting info...

    Ive had great results with tv, radio and newspapers. Ive never used any service, just good old networking and personal approaches, does the trick.

      The best way to get free publicity is to share content that is of value to other people. Something interesting that people will want to read and share. Start a blog with a daily post or something and get it circulating in the social networks. If you are posting good content regularly people will start to pick you up and share your content all over the place.

      You can get some good publicity with press releases if they are sharing info that people love or they point back to a site thats full of useful info.

    Here's an ACTIVE way that might get you free publicity. Visit Free Publicity - Connecting Reporters and News Sources - Help a Reporter Out and sign up. It's basically an email newsletter where reporters, authors, bloggers, etc are looking for experts on certain subjects. (Like yourself)

    So let's say I'm AOL and I'm looking for an expert on work at home. I would put an ad in HARO and folks can email me their pitch. The service is totally free for you to respond and receive.

    I've been featured on the homepage of AOL and listed in books, careerbuilder and some other websites because of this service. You get two emails per day. You don't always find good leads for your niche but sometimes you do and it can be a great way to get free exposure and help to build you as an expert.

    So this is a way to actively look for free publicity and traffic every day. Don't hope for it! That being said, I've also been interviewed by news stations and other websites because they found my website on Google (back in the day when smaller brands could rank. lol). So creating a great website with good content does help as well. But it's passive. I say be greedy and do both! LOL

    The point when writing your Press Release or PSA, attempt and think of a snare that gets the attention of the individual.

    There are so many ways to get free publicity. In some of the case humor works, a lot- Take a chance... You can see some sites have General Calendars of Events, as like newspaper; some of these are pointed at specific markets. Another trick is using the online chat lists that are highly specified. You can publicize you product by sending email to your members, business partners, the entire list that you have.If you have website put your event or product in your website so that the other people can see that.
