My Online Income Plateau - Should I Just Be Grateful?

I don't know about you, but I hate it when I am trying to lose weight and I keep going to the gym month after month only to see my results the same. Sure I may drop a pound or two, but nothing really changes.

Well I have noticed that my online income is the same. I have plateaued and it always seems to come out to the same every month.

Now I am grateful that I earn some money online, otherwise I would be complaining that I don't make any money online.

My only gripe is that I have been plateaued on this current income level for several months now.

I guess I should just be grateful that I am making money. I know that I am working on increasing it.

Now that a new month is upon us, it is time for me to get busy and try to increase this months income. Let me see if I can do it.

By the way I made $1442.82 last month.

Going to the gym is not the easier path to weight loss. Cutting your calories to around 1500 a day (of healthier choices) should do it, gym or no gym.

Similarly, you need to make some different choices in your business to get different results. You know Einstein's theory of insanity, right?

You don't tell us what you are doing now, but here are a few quick ideas to consider.

    - add a product/service
    - change a product/service
    - advertise somewhere else
    - advertise by some different method
    - change your copy
    - get a mentor
    - start another site
    - intern for someone who makes more than you and learn
    - sell your stuff on ebay/craigslist, then start finding more stuff in your area that can be resold on those sites, and develop it into a business (my wife does this quite well)
    - do you have a list? find some new offers to send them

    Good luck!

Hey thanks for the response, I am actually working on my first product right now. I do have a mentor finally...something that I invested in this past May.

So eventually I will get over that plateau. I have been stuck at it for several months. Ready to get over it.

    Hi Susan,

Can I ask what you're already doing to generate your income? Knowing what you're doing will probably help to make suggestions :-)

And well done on your income so far. I'm sure a lot of Warriors would be proud of that!

Have been working on my first product creation product. So focusing more on that aspect.

Yes - you should be grateful.

    AND ...

No - you should not be content with that amount.

Keep improving ... Plan, Do, Check, Tweak!

And remember that the checking and tweaking never stops

I am grateful for the income I make online...try to improve it though. Agree with you that we should always be trying to improve online.

  • $1442/month is a decent amount, congratulations! You obviously have a method that's working so if I were you I would scale it up to make more money.

If you can't invest more time in your online ventures, then the best way is to outsource some of the work.

I am in the process of scaling it up. Right now I am working on my first product...just takes time.

I have started investing in outsourcing as well.

To add my two pennies worth - what has worked for me is taking myself away from the sitiuation, pumping up on some good personal development material i.e. Anthony Robbins, Jim Rohn, T Harv Eker(millionaire mind) etc.

I then use whatever inspiration I have gathered from the above and write some fresh goals that are exciting enough to drive me.

I did the same with losing weight and now I eating less and exercising more and getting some good feedback from my peers.

Maybe you could apply the same to your approach online, I really do believe that the buck starts and ends with us.

    Hope this helps.

Ever hear of the saying the harder I work, the luckier I get. You could probably say the harder I work, the more money I will make. That is the simple answer.

If you work smarter within the allotted time you have, maybe you can earn more, too. However, I am not smart enough to give you advice on how to work smarter within your niche. Please refer to previous posters in this thread. LOL!

Definitely don't be satisfied with that, you should always keep striving to move forward! If your current income streams aren't letting you get past that level, add more! Either by diversifying with what you've already got, or starting an all new project you can do alongside your current business.

If time's an issue, maybe look at your current business, and see if there's any tasks you're spending a lot of time on in comparison to what results you're getting from it. And cut that out! Sometimes it's necessary to take a small drop in income in order to increase it in the long run. I done that not too long ago in my business, and the rewards have been well worth it already.

I hope you continue to strive for more, good luck.

I am definitely not satisfied with the amount I am making. Now don't take me wrong, I am very grateful to be making an income online.

I am right now working on a product it's taking longer than I thought it would. But you are right about cutting out something to get to my goals.

There isn't enough time to do everything myself. Thanks

Great job and a good start to making money online.

There are always ways to improve all you have to do is get past the mental block in your mind that is stopping you for achieving those goals.

For example, If you plateaued at the gym it may because you are doing the same exercises all the time and not increasing the reps. Consistency is key but you also need to increase the workout or weight gradually. Another example is to do what others have said and supplement your diet with your exercise to lose weight.

Create a strategy, experiment, test the results

Remember the 80/20 rule where 80% of your online marketing money comes from 20% of your work so figure out what that 20% is and start focusing on it and start letting go of the other 80% that only generates 20% of your income..

By focusing on what works best your income will increase.

Thanks I have actually let go some of the methods that I used to do...they still bring me money even though I haven't touched them in at least 2 months.

      Squidoo being one of them.

Hey I would definatley be greatful... more so if that's a side income ontop of a full time job. A great budget to invest and grow with. Personally I have had some good months this year and some bad, but definatley getting better. Trying to bring things up to the point of a steady recuring income like yours.

Perhaps you could take some of your income and invest it in some coaching to push you to the next level. I have always been advised by the successful marketers I have learnt from that coaching always took them to the next level. I just invested in a reputable coach because I beleive that will help me move on up to the next level.

      I don't have a full-time job...I am a full-time student.

I did finally invest in an online mentor this past May. That is actually how I have gotten into product creation.

So working on getting to the next level...just taking some time.

But I think its to chaotic to work after office. But any way I earned $286 that make very happy. I am thinking to quit my job taking freelancing as my profession. Hope that works for me.

Why are you flat lining what is yours business? I see you have a PLR sig. do you make plr products? How do you bring in customers and what are your advertising efforts?
In order to get a good solid answer you should be as specific as possible then you'll get some sound advice.
Keep pushing forward and bringing in more customers, look at the things that you aren't doing or capitalizing on that could increase business. If you have regular repeat customers offer them a premium service where they get additional perks normal customers don't have access to. People will pay premium price when the value of what they get out weighs the cost, like additional bonuses.

I do have a PLR store and have some PLR products. However, right now I am working on a different product.

I just set up my personal blog about two months ago and am focusing on different free marketing strategies. It is working, but it is taking some time. I haven't used paid methods because in the past, I have lost a lot of money from it.

The income that I make per month right now is from methods that I have used in the past via affiliate marketing, Squidoo, Adsense, flipping websites and other methods.

I am trying to move away from most of those methods, except the flipping websites and go into product creation. I think that is the only way that my income will go up, is to focus on product creation and building a list.

That is the reason that I invested in an online mentor this past May.

Well done getting this far Susan.

Creating a product is a great way to go so long as you're sure it's something people will want to buy.

Hopefully you will do well with the help of your mentor - or try someone else if you feel you are not progressing as you should.

You most definitely should be grateful. I made over 1k last week and I barely even know what I did. Still a bit confused with IM, but I am working on it everyday. Just continue to do what you are doing, but try doing it on a larger scale.

Not sure of your financial status, but use that money you are currently making and reinvest it back into your business. At least a decent sized percent. That's what I plan on doing with my profits. With everything though you are going to plateau because that's the level you are at. Maybe you can try to find somebody a little more advanced than you to help you with the tweaks.

Keep it up and keep on rolling!!!

A lot of experiment and patience needed to generate good income stream online. If you are not getting enough success with one product, create another. Trying different traffic methods, which one is working well for you.

Susan it appears as though you have some PLR businesses set up.

Are you familiar with other marketers in the PLR arena?

I am a member of a few PLR groups that give me great insight into what PLR customers are looking for.

I am happy to point you in the direction of those groups if you are interested.
