Have a website, have plenty of traffic - Which ads are best?

Hello everyone

Would really appreciate some help or advice from all your experts.

I have a website and I have lots of traffic going to it (thousands of hits a day).

Now what I want is to make some money from this traffic and hits. I don't like the sound of adsense, as it sounds very hard to get approved.

What are the best ways to make money through advertising on a website that is getting the traffic?

Would appreciate any information, whether it is a good article, success stories or just your general opinion based on your experience.

Many thanks

Dr Boom!

    Thanks Karen.

I just don't have a clue how much money these types of things can generate.

Is there a ratio (for example) when generally 1% of your traffic convert into sales? Or is it very much luck?

    Are some better than others?

Some success stories would be good to show how people have done it and what they earnt from doing it that way.

    Up front: I run mySimpleAds.com.

That aside, you could use an adserver like mysimpleads.com to do both affiliate banners and sell your ad space at the same time.

You create ad groups that house your affiliate banners, and can also hold sold spots. While any spots remain unsold they'll have your banners running, so you always have the chance to be making some money from them.

As far as affiliate market returns, it's really what the ad is and what kind it is (zip return, cpc, etc), what kind of traffic, what placement. Basically too many variables to say you'll get x% return. Honestly the best thing is to simply sign up for one like commissionjunction or such, and just try it, and maybe even mix in selling the ad spots at the same time.

AdSense isn't that hard to get approved for at all and despite what I've read about their "strict" policies, they've been really reasonable in my experience. I've found that affiliate links should be added wherever they're relevant within the post, but it helps to have some adsense in there too.

The earnings might be low at first, but if you've got the traffic, it does add up.

Adsense is probably one of the best ad networks to put on your site depending on the niche. You could also look into affiliate marketing and building your own email list. There are tonnes of ways to monetize traffic coming to your site, but you could start off by selling ad space and promoting affiliate products.

Why don't you create your own ads and drive traffic to your products or affiliate products.

If a guy can afford to pay you for someone to click on his ad then you could possibly make much more selling what he's selling for all his profits.

Adsense is very easy to get approved for. I would also consider affiliate marketing, creating your own info products, or charging people for ad slots on your site.

Add an optin form and get a list in your niche. You will be able to make money from this list over and over.

I recommend you to try Revenue Hits. It is really great, I've been using it for long. There is no approval system that AdSense has.

Direct advertising is probably your best bet if you have good traffic because it's recurrent income every month. Google adsense's income can vary and can be lower.

If you don't want to get into adsense, the best left option for you might be to run ads on your site. It is a great way to convert your visitors into money.

      Hey Dr. Boom!

If you're getting decent to your site I would implement the following:

      * build your own banner ads (or have them built) of various sizes and various
styles and start testing various placements of those ads.
FYI, the best converting ad online: medium rectangle 300x250
      (thank you Gauher Chaudhry!)

      * sign up to at Clickbank, Commission Junction and other networks and look
for offers that would be useful and interesting to your niche. Can also search
OfferVault.com for related CPA offers. Also do a Google search to find sites
in your niche that have products your niche would be interested in.

Scroll to the bottom of your "competitors" (aka future JV partners) websites and
look for "Affiliates" and sign up to be one of their affiliates (if they have an affiliate
      program).

Make your new banner ads clickable with your affiliate link "behind them."

      * IMMEDIATELY set up an opt-in form or "sign up for 'XYZ Newsletter' and start
      building your email list.

      * Write, or have written articles to use as your autoresponder sequence promoting
      the affiliate offers you've found.

      * once your email list is started, approach the owners of the sites you found that
are in your niche and ask them if they'd like to buy a solo email ad to your newsletter
which "happens to be in their niche."

      * depending on the niche, start hosting webinars with 90% content and 10% sales
pitch at the end promoting one of the affiliate offers.

      * start developing your own product based on the affiliate products that are selling
the best from the banner ads on your site.

      * DO NOT sell banner ad space on your site to an outside advertiser. You'll be able
to monetize your own traffic in multiples compared to selling ad space.

There ya go! Might be a couple of things in there to "to make money through
advertising on a website that is getting the traffic?"

      Hope that helps!

I think you should try any of the following right here:

    1. Affiliate Banners (e.g., Clickbank, CJ, Amazon, etc.)
    2. Selling Banner Space

These ones really works than just relying on Adsense.

Media dot net is a good alternative to Google adsense. Also you can think about buysellads.
