Any Good Wso's On Building Membership Sites?

Can someone point me in the direction of a wso that teaches me how to set up my own membership site?

I am a bit of a tard when it comes to setting up this stuff. I have been trying to set up op with instamember but can't figure it out.

I would prefer that it used Optimizepress, but do not care what membership plugin, whether it be instamember, s2member or wishlist

Just need a great guide that will teach me how to do it in simple instructions.

It also needs to drip feed as well,

Thanks in advance

Mark...are you looking for technical info? Like a how-to?

I will agree with you on that about InstaMember - the documentation and tutorial videos are poor.

What irks me is that with the big launch you think they could have taken a few bucks and outsourced some videos.

I was able to get thru them, but I've set up more than a dozen membership sites with various different plugins - so I have the basics down.

I have a question for you...

Will you need JVZoo or WarriorPlus integration? Like is this an IM niche type of product?

If it's not, you may want to check out MemberMouse. Top notch plugin for WP with easy-to-follow videos and good support.

Do a search in "The War Room". There's lots of good info on membership sites in there.

    Hey Mark,

I agree about MemberMouse -- it's a great option. It's powerful, flexible and very user friendly for the person who has to set it up and manage it (i.e. YOU) ;-) But it's a monthly charge for MemberMouse...

If you'd prefer to pay once for a solid membership script, go for DAP. It integrates with a lot of "stuff" and unlike Instamember, the documentation is awesome and very well written (by 'well-written' I mean it's written for Joe marketer, not for a programmer).

If you'd like me to walk you through some stuff on Skype screen share, ping me. :-)

Personally, I don't understand the apprehension of paying a monthly fee for a membership plugin that does what MemberMouse does.

      It's $20/month...with a 14-day free trial.

So you can literally start for nothing...

1 or 2 members and your monthly fee is covered.

It may cost you a little more in the long run, that's not exactly a negative - there are BENEFITS to this.

First off, you can start for $20...and that gives you 14 days + the first month to get things started. No need to drop 10 times that upfront before you ever make a dime.

So it's great for those who are "bootstrapping".

The $20/month covers 1,000 members. Even if you're charging as little as $1/month per member, it's not hard to cover this once you're in business. Even a free membership site with 1,000 members should be producing close to $1/month per member just from email marketing, upsells, affiliate marketing.

Another benefit is limited risk. If you're site BOMBS...cut the cord and call it a learning experience.

Third, there is the support issue. For $20/month you don't ever have to worry about support. Not to single out DAP, but despite offering what is a "Lifetime License", the next line of their pricing page says this - "UNLIMITED Free Software Updates & Technical Support - For 1 Full Year!"

So...yeah, you get a "Lifetime" license, but that "Lifetime" license only includes Software Updates and Support for the 1st year!

      Not exactly a lifetime...just saying.

If MemberMouse makes an update, you get the upgrade...for $20/month. If you need support, it's included...for $20/month.

A year and a day after buying your DAP license, any upgrades or support are no longer free - it says so right on their website.

Finally, let's look at things long-term. A monthly fee service like MemberMouse is going to be able to focus on their current customers and not have to be as worried about obtaining new customers - 80/20 rule.

If MemberMouse has 1,000 customers they have a revenue of at least $20,000/month to provide support, implement improvements, and upgrade the software...without having to go out a chase new business.

Do the one-time fee software products have this?

      Nope.

They have to go chasing new business every month. Or else...

So yes...in the long run you will pay a little more over the course of a year for a monthly fee service like MemberMouse. But that's not always a negative.

Just laying out both sides of the equation.

Every situation is different. For some people, I can see it making sense to invest in a one-time payment option. I think this is especially true in cases where they outsource the "technical" parts to a programmer or expert.

For the guy bootstrapping and doing everything himself, I think the monthly structure may be the way to go.

Well I can't give you a program to purchase on here I can say the best audio training I have ever heard about building membership sites was a bonus that came with Instamember. If you are using wordpress for your site then check it out.

I'm sure you can also find a bunch of great free info if you do some searching on this forum.
